Arkansas trying to get on us

Arkansas has the #1 high school recruiting class for the 2026 cycle.  Texas has the #1 overall class (high school recruits + international recruits + transfer portal) in the 2026 cycle.  So not the gotcha they thought it was.  But this shows the Arkansas-Texas rivalry is as strong as ever, at least on the hardwood.  This must be what the Nolan Richardson-Tom Penders era felt like.

Not really because Arkansas owned Texas. They ended the BMW run. Texas would have beaten them during the season, but Nolan didn’t get a tech for walking off the floor.

Maybe cause I’m a young but Arkansas has never been thought of as a rival and let’s be real Texas owns them in most things besides basketball and lately baseball

Yeah it's an old school rivalry from the Southwest Conference days.  This article written by Blake a little over a year ago explains it well, although it's referring to football.

Not sure Texas has a rival in basketball on that level right now.  Maybe Texas-Florida can become that level of rivalry in the SEC if Miller and Golden stick around at their respective schools and Texas can start winning some games against Golden over the next few years.

Kentucky the No. 2 big winner of offseason after Florida is a truly asinine take … geez

I watched some of this but stopped it 30 mins in because the guy on the lefts take seemed pretty biased.

I don’t know for fact, but that’s the word in coaching circles.

He bounced around a lot in HS. Was said to be a problem

When he announced on TV with sunglasses on, I figured he would be a problem.

I say this as someone that likes Jeff and Rob ... these guys act like Colorado was a bad team. They weren't some bad/terrible team. They went 17-16 and 7-11 in a damn good Big 12. They had 7 losses by less than 10, and some of those were really good teams that they played from 2 to 6 points in conference play.

I tend to believe people underestimate Isaiah being Chris Johnson's kid. He''s groomed for this move to full time team runner. Not every game or stretch will be high-end, but he will be fine after a short adjustment.

BTW, I have Florida as the easy pick to win the SEC preseason. The Denzel Aberdeen waiver situation does impact their ceiling IMO.

Pick:
Florida

Fighting it out for top 3 seeds in NCAA Tournament:
Texas
Tennessee

Anywhere from No. 4 to No. 6 seeds in NCAA Tournament:
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
Alabama
Missouri

Comfortably in the NCAA Tournament:
Kentucky

Should make NCAA Tournament:
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Georgia

May make the Field of 76:
Oklahoma or Auburn

Who the hell knows:
LSU

Purgatory in a brutal conference:
Mississippi State
South Carolina

Why did so many schools want him then? Not losing any sleep over this. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it doesn’t make them right.

Yeah, I thought the Johnson analysis was off. They brought up the Elliot Cadeau comparison from last year, but Johnson is coming off a better season than Cadeau was. Later, they have PJ Haggerty as a candidate for best transfer, who, in my opinion, is more of a "big stats, bad team" guy.
