They weren't some bad/terrible team. They went 17-16 and 7-11 in a damn good Big 12. They had 7 losses by less than 10, and some of those were really good teams that they played from 2 to 6 points in conference play. I tend to believe people underestimate Isaiah being Chris Johnson's kid. He''s groomed for this move to full time team runner. Not every game or stretch will be high-end, but he will be fine after a short adjustment. BTW, I have Florida as the easy pick to win the SEC preseason. The Denzel Aberdeen waiver situation does impact their ceiling IMO. Pick: Florida Fighting it out for top 3 seeds in NCAA Tournament: Texas Tennessee Anywhere from No. 4 to No. 6 seeds in NCAA Tournament: Vanderbilt Arkansas Alabama Missouri Comfortably in the NCAA Tournament: Kentucky Should make NCAA Tournament: Ole Miss Texas A&M Georgia May make the Field of 76: Oklahoma or Auburn Who the hell knows: LSU Purgatory in a brutal conference: Mississippi State South Carolina Already really liked Vandy’s squad … adds very nice depth piece Quote

Mingo brothers will be good, and the Liberty transfer is one of best shooters in country Baylor will likely struggle with Matas and Punch … the combo 1 Quote

Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted July 20 Author Moderators Posted July 20 So the Texas non-conference schedule now includes: Miami (N in H'town) Baylor (N in SA) at Louisville Georgetown (San Diego) and likely UCLA (San Diego) 5 Quote

This non con schedule is a bit better than the last few years so it's an improvement but guess since we have a roster that is much improved people are barely noticing. Quote

A non-con of at Louisville (will be a top 3 seed team), Miami (will be a top 20 type team), Baylor (talented guards and likely top 35 team), likely UCLA (will be a top 25 level team), Georgetown and Memphis home prepares Texas. The home non-con took a hit due to having two “neutral site” games, but I like that Texas is playing in SA and Houston against quality opponents. People want a teams to play a murders row non-con, plus SEC/ACC plus SEC … I want Sean Miller to build his depth and team, and grown and prepare his team for the SEC grind without having to play starters too many minutes in non-conference. 14 game non-conference 18 game SEC SEC Tourney NCAA Tournament hopefully a 38-40 game season. Texas will be battle tested and ready throughout the season Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted July 23 Author Moderators Posted July 23 Everyone can go ahead and stop talking about the Texas non-con schedule A&M … oof 2 Quote

You can only have 15 players on a roster at a time in college basketball. With the addition of Marcus Spears Jr., all 15 of those spots are occupied at Texas now, so Pope and Weaver, if they win their cases, will be playing for different teams this college basketball season. 1 Quote
