Texas wrapped up summer workouts Friday with a full game scrimmage. Two 20 minute halves, refs and coaches on both sides.

Matas led all scorers with 28.

Punch had an impressive all-around performance

Amari Evans had his best workout as a Texas Longhorn.

Isaiah Johnson was really good.

Bo Ogden hit three 3's, and a couple of big one's late.

Texas hit a lot of 3's ... they got on a little heater (not what the normal will be for this team).

I'll have more of complete rundown in the AM

Jordan Livingstone*.  Let’s be real though, it’s all business at the end of the day for these guys.

Different situation for Jordan. He wanted to come back to Texas but just recently became eligible. Texas wasn’t going to wait, and rightfully so. Parker on the other hand acted like he was forced out when it was his own choice.

Difference ... Pope didn't have a Texas choice. Nor did Weaver (went to UH).

Texas moved on from each of those guys after the season.

Even when it became apparent they may have possibility to get another year... Texas wouldn't have made that move.

It's sad though. The good will Pope established is now greatly diminished. He couldn't play for the Longhorns, but he wasn't forced to be an Aggie. It's business, but that needs to be the response to him in the future now as well.

Does anyone on this board that's criticizing Popes landing spot have any idea what AM offered vs his other choices?

Definitely more, and by a decent margin I hear. Because A&M fears Bryson Warren isn't getting eligible

I don't blame Pope for picking A&M for that reason.
