If he signs as a FA he’s making a huge mistake

Now that the draft didn’t happen for him, I wonder if a “real story” will come out. Because to me it never felt like this was about the particular draft position but that there was (is) something else. Now that the draft didn’t provide that clean next step, i guess we’ll see just how much he doesn’t want to be on the 40 next year. Signing undrafted would be quite a statement, but he’s past the portal deadline, so that’s his only alternative.

He may just hate college and wants to play pro ball.

Wild that Mendoza didn't want to play another year.

It's not that he doesnt want to but his injury is severe and would cost him a lot of his season regardless he isnt improving his stock. Frankly he was not good enough to think he would be drafted and think that injury just sent him "scrambling"

His injury would cost him for the upcoming senior year?

Lots of talented young pitchers, which is great news. Excited to see what Rangel can do.

Trey Rangel can assume the fresh high-leverage closing role like Sam Cozart.  The Texas Longhorns might win a back-to-back-to-back Freshman Pitcher of the Year award,

I agree feels like something else is going on. I’m wondering if maybe it’s has something to do with his shoulder.
