Joe Zura Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Disagree with that list DeBore from Alabama should be ahead of most of them but what do I know Quote
Roysterr Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If Elko goes 8 - 4 next year will he be in these top 10 rankings next year? 1 Quote

But his reputation has taken a hit from mismanaging the Bama transition. That was just too great of a switch from coaching philosophies from Saban to DeBoer. That's like going from Soviet Russia to telly tubby land. Extreme coach's coach to extreme player's coach. Defense minded vs offense minded. There was bound to be turbulence. If he can't right the ship this year, he will fall out of the top 10 entirely and people will count his success at UW as luck 1 Quote
Jbro52 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 1.Kirby 2. Day 3. Cignetti 4. Freeman 5. DeBoer 6. Cristobal 7.Sark 8.Lanning 9. Kiffin 10. Franklin / Sweeny Quote
Paul Jespersen Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I prefer to take in most of these rankings in groups or tiers, rather than just serially. I just can't go with Cignetti over Smart and Ryan yet - let's see what happens this year with some new pieces and schedule. Regardless, that is probably Tier 1, take your pick and preferences... Tier 2 is Sark, Lanning, Freeman, and let's throw in Lane. Again, take your pick - I'm personally team Sark on that list, but any order is defensible. I think Sark has both the most upside of the group AND the most likely to stumble or fall. Hopefully not. Aside from just coaching, running the program is one of the biggest factors in modern game, and Sark may be Tier 1 in that. One from this list is likely to move up to Tier 1 this year if they can put together a NC win or at least strong run. The rest, to me a clear drop off. I personally like Wittingham hire at Michigan quite a bit, but don't know that it puts him in an elite zone any time soon. Conceivable though. Cristobal best of rest imo. Elko and DeBoer not so much and think Alabama has a further down year so he probably drops off list. A pretty big drop to the next tier as well, which is basically the norm / avg and where most reside. I also know nothing, so there's that. 😜 Interesting question to me is always who might catapult into one of the top tiers from below or even outside (a la Cignetti). 🤘 Quote
Moderators Jordan Scruggs Posted 2 hours ago Moderators Posted 2 hours ago Whittingham at 9 is pretty damn interesting. Great coach but 9 in 2026? IDK about that 2 Quote

hookem1014 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Not even trying to be a hater, but how is Elko above Deboer and Cristobal? 1 Quote
watty7796 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Id like to see a ranking of overall coach+staff and another that has all head coaches as a cumulative across the athletic department. Also curious which AD is the best in the country. Quote
