We can confirm Anwar Richardson's report on Orangebloods that Trevor Goosby left practice with an "apparent knee injury" on Monday. It was his left knee.

A source close to Goosby's camp told OTF it is unknown the severity of the injury until the results of the MRI that is being conducted today.

We will keep you updated as we learn more.

***9:15 am: Bobby was told by a source that Goosby "walked off the field fine" ... we continue to await testing results

***10:25am: Gerry was told the play in which the injury occurred was 100% a non-contact injury. It was the night half padded practice. The injury occurred with the hyperextension of the left knee.

***10:30am: Gerry was told that Trevor Goosby has already undergone the MRI this morning. And now awaiting results.

***10:45am: OTF has confirmed with a member of Goosby's camp that it's a bone bruise. TBD on recovery timeline

I know many are going to freak out (several already are) but let's just wait until something concrete comes out on the situatuion.

Exactly.

(But I also understand the concern.)

So that we're on the same page...

For knee injuries, an X-ray is used first to view hard bones and check for fractures or arthritis. An MRI is needed when doctors must view soft tissues like ligaments, cartilage, and menisci, or if pain and instability continue after a normal X-ray.

Of course, anyone should be deeply concerned. You can replace football players, you generally can’t replace a top 15 pick in the NFL draft.

No doubt. Depending on the results, it would be a huge hit if he was out for an extended period of time. It would make bringing back Cole Hutson a lot more important imo because it gives some position versatility and runway for the staff to try out some different combos. Again, let's wait til the results come before we go there though.

Do you guys know if he was able to walk off on his own?

I don't know.

A source told Gerry it was non-contact.

Texas isn’t exactly void of talent. They have one of the top 3 most talented rosters in the country. Ohio State lost Simmons before the season, shuffled the OL and still won a national championship.

If Texas doesn’t have enough pieces behind Goosby to withstand one injury, that’s not a talent problem, that’s a roster/development problem on Sark and Flood.

If that’s the case then that’s not good.

Best case scenario he just tweaked something and just scared him a little

Do we have any idea when the results will be announced? I’m going to crash the OTF server this morning with all my refreshes.

We do not. Y'all will know as soon as we do.

Let’s hope and pray it’s nothing long term and he will only miss a short time . My immediate thoughts were put Siani at left tackle and Baker back at right . Left guard Seymoure right guard Hutson and Connor at center .
