Interesting that Sankey’s statement never mentions the term “student athlete”, and instead uses the term “college athletes” (multiple times).

Something tells me that is very intentional, and likely part of the planning for next steps.

Time for Plan C…the SEC moves to a self-governance model.

If SEC and ACC and Monster Energy all pass similar rules to B1G, then the next stop may be antitrust violation lawsuits/injunctions against the leagues for colluding against this group of athletes. Just seems like a not-that-unlikely next step.

Why, they aren’t saying those kids cannot play, they just said that head coaches will be suspended 50% and a fine. That’s the schools choice to make
