OTF Premium Fantastic Trend from Game One | Sunday 4:45 p.m.

Re-watched the game as my usual number crunching on Sundays and couldn't help but be really encouraged by this trend.

12 personnel was phenomenal on Sunday.

Texas averaged 10.05 yards per snap with two tight ends on the field Saturday – with the starting offense on the field.

In comparison to the 2025 season, that would have been the 2nd highest mark of the season, only behind the 12.45 yards per play in 12P which was greatly aided by an 83-yard touchdown pass.

Big plays:

• 45-yard rush by Smothers
• 21-yard catch by Wingo
• 16-yard catch by Wingo
• 13-yard run by Brown TD
• 44-yard catch by Coleman
• 18-yard catch by Winston

Really encouraging start to the season with 4 tight ends all rotating in and contributing heavily.

but i don't think Texas was in 12P on that play...going to have to go back and take another look at the Wingo 45 yard pass.

Also, multiple standout blocks from the TE's. Big, welcome surprise. Also a surprise that Masunas had fewest snaps of the group?

All in all though, bodes very well for the year to have TE's contributing like that in all phases - especially in 12.

I mentioned in thread after game , I thought this was one of best group of blocking TEs we have had in a long time.

Sark gets some great formations using our 2 TEs and puts a lot of pressure on defenses. Most defenses vs Texas want to get smaller and more help going against our WRs.

Love we are aggressive going for it on 4th down much of game.

 

Thx for this thread.  I hope Arch takes some safety valve throws to our RBs and TEs vs forcing too much. These guys can make plays
