Two things can be true. In general, we a much more politically correct environment that we live. People are binary in thought now and days which erodes reason, nuance, and ultimately communication.

He made a mistake. Violence of a man against a woman is rarely funny. This has nothing to do with soft. The topic of a joke has always rightfully mattered.

Interestingly, you’re talking about soft while seemingly being hurt/bothered by a young man demonstrating accountability. That’s leadership and role modeling.  Good on him! 🤘🏽

I completely get where you are coming from as I have daughters. But honest question here, if the role was reversed and she chased him down and kicked him in the nuts, would that be an issue. And I'm not trying to condescending or confrontational. I just think the outrage is a little overblown because it was AI but a the same time, I am glad he took ownership of it and apologized. It shows maturity and demonstrates that he learned an important lesson about having a platform. Optics matter.

Would this have received the traction if Holly were a Henry and Sark smacked down a man? Even if Holly would have just blown it off and said something to the sort of “Sark is obviously pumped and wants to celebrate with his team”. Instead it was her arrogance storming off that sent the memes ablaze.

It was a joke and AI at that. The heat Holly has faced isn’t based on a stupid, classless AI clip. It’s the way she has handled herself in these situations.

In no way am I “hurt” or “bothered” by arch apologizing😭 good for him and I’m glad he did. I’m “bothered” by the world for piling on a college kid who has been nothing but a great person laughing at a FAKE video

This would never have happened if ABC had its equipment straightened out for the game.  I realize that there is chaos down on the field/sidelines, but how hard is it?  Both sidelines have all kinds of tech going.  Yes, sometimes it fails, but by and large, it is running on all cylinders for 60 minutes of game time and the stoppages.  If it isn't, it generally gets corrected quickly.

Thank you for asking. Not saying you. Imo, it’s veiled misogyny when we throw out what if it were reversed. I dont care much for non funny. Kick in the nuts isn’t funny. If they portrayed cup checking him like men have down for years, it might be funny as it’s taking a “fun” act and applying it. In general, most men aren’t walking around fearful of women physically so it’s not analogous. To your point, more reason to just avoid violence between sexes. The current gif is one that many women have had to endure so it is very tone deaf. Is it worth the coverage it’s gotten in relation to arch being a bad dude? I don’t think so. Did he get a great early life lesson about his visibility and the weight( it shouldn’t imo) he carries. I think so. Starting qb of one of the largest brands in the world simply can’t take moments off. He accepted this when he came here.

Have a great day!

But he isn’t. He represents much more than himself at this point and is paid well by multiple sponsors to do so. They can’t be men on the field since they take NIL but a kid off it. He is THE brand. That alone changes everything(if we put everything else to the side). I agree some idiots are making it personal with him and that’s completely unacceptable. He made an immature mistake rather than reveal who he is. That’s nonsense. None of us are the whole of what comes out of our mouths. Often, not even a part. 🤘🏽

I get it because there is a terrible epidemic of athletes hitting women. Point is definitely taken. You have a great day as well Sir. Hook em!

I think it has blown way out of proportion. It's easier for all of us to say it is funny, it's not funny, and be entitled to whatever you want to think. I try to look at it as, look how young he is, I mean I'm almost 40 and there are tik toks my buddies still send me that I think are hilarious but very childish or dumb, but I still laugh.

Just one of those things that is or isn't right, but nobody will ever agree the same way.
