Fun Derek Cooper wrinkle idea

First, it was great to see Derek Cooper in action Saturday night. But I got to thinking about ways to manage all 3 of the primary RB touches as Cooper gets implemented into the offense, and a potential idea crossed my mind.

If you used to watch the Dallas Cowboys back when they had Marion Barber at RB, you might remember how they used to deploy him in games specifically in the 4th quarter. And it was a real difference maker watching him come in on fresh legs against a team that had already defended 50plus plays.

What about Hollywood and Raleek continuing to share load as they have been the first 3 quarters, and then deploying Cooper in the 4th with fresh legs? Just a fun thought!

Yes, we have other offensive items we need to focus on. This was really more a fun thought for those who remember Marion the Barbarian!

That's a great thought.  Utilize Smothers' and Brown's twitchiness in the first three quarters then deploy Cooper, M Terry, and Simon in the fourth.  Ideally Texas has a lead and they're trying to have a long scoring drive to milk the clock and ice the game (2023 @ Alabama, 2024 v Kentucky, etc.)

You have to trust Cooper from a ball security standpoint to go this route.  Regardless, excited by what Cooper brings.

Just run the kid he will move the pile no need to get too complex. In fact I think sark outsmarts himself. Run simple stupid like a smart point guard. You have better players. Exploit mismatches.

The small sample size I saw from Cooper, is he doesn't mess around juking and jiving. He'll make his cut and explode. Tough to bring down. He'll be a handful next year as the starter. I still think they'll go to the portal to bring in a guy to pair with him.
