Been a Longhorn fan from Arkansas (with 2 parents who graduated from U of A) as soon as I first saw Earl Campbell run the ball.  Best thing about this past season, I got to enjoy a great season with my son for the first time.  We can’t wait for the next few seasons and we return to the top of the mountain.  Keep up the good work guys, I look forward to it every morning!!  Hook em’

Very underrated thought here IMO. A lot of people got to experience the same thing with their kids for the first time; that's how things get passed down through the generations and part of what is special about Texas football.

I live in Arkansas as well but I am a transplant. Born in Texas and lived there 50 years.

I’ve lived in Arkansas my whole life and it was hard to root for the Burnt Orange in the late SWC days with my whole family being Arkansas fans.  Then, in 2004, Vince Young convinced my nephew to jump on board and he’s now a lifer, finally, my son went from being a fan to be a lifer bc of this group.  The Texas family is growing in Central Arkansas!!  I’ve taken a lot of crap from buddies the past 20 years, it’s about to change and I can’t wait 🙂

Glad to have you cheering for the Burnt Orange. I admit it has been hard to do before Sark arrived. Been a long dry spell of the winning tradition. I am some what of a fair weathered fan when it comes to Cowboys ( whole different conversation) but cheered for the horns through the good and bad.

I’m the same way, Dallas won’t ever get the Head Coach/QB combo and I refuse to keep getting my heart broken.  With Texas, recruiting has been the issue ever since Mack got complacent.  Sark is current, genuine, works his ass off, is extremely hungry and is a heck of a football coach.  It’s ridiculous that Texas hasn’t had a top pick in so long before Bijon.  It won’t happen again under Sark.

Cool, my TOS handle was still available. I'll try to behave...

Live in Georgia, looking forward to some SEC baseball next year.

Blake is the resident baseball purist. His son is a 9th grader but already getting some legit recruiting interest.

Welcome to On Texas Football (or in this instance, OnTexasFootball.com)!

We hope you'll become part of the conversation on your favorite team - The Texas Longhorns.

As we begin a new era, we have a few rules, rules that we hope allow us all to enjoy the site and enjoy the team we root for.

Please follow these:

1. No in-fighting among members. Sure, grown men can disagree. But grown men (or women) don't call each other names.

2. This site and discussion is about the Texas Longhorns. It's not about how one of us is any smarter or dumber than the other, about how one site or other is better than another, etc.

3. Keep in mind that sarcasm is often difficult to decipher in text form.

4. We're just getting started here, so you'll see new features and items pop up almost daily over the next several weeks. At times there will likely be hiccups because of that. Please exercise patience during those times, even if there's a commitment about to happen. 😉

5. Ask questions of myself, CJ, Blake, etc. And ask questions of one another. Again, the real key here is to have a place where all Texas fans can come together, learn more about the team they care about, and discuss the ins and outs of the team, recruiting and more.

We really hope you enjoy OnTexasFootball.com. We hope it becomes a daily stop on your quest for the best in Longhorn news, information and discussion.

Thanks for stopping by and please consider joining in the conversation now. It's super easy to sign up and get started.

Just a little introduction

I was born in 1959

My dad is a UT alumni

I am a real Lifetime Longhorn because I was born with Burnt Orange hair.

DKR was truly a God growing up.

My favorite Longhorn used to Roosevelt Leaks, until Earl Campbell blocked a punt against Arkansas.

I received my BSME in 1981.

Used to follow every game with my father on TV or radio.

I never went a game thinking that we could possibly get beat, until 2012 Iowa St.

I am excited about what Sark and the Longhorns are doing, like I was in 1968 with DKR and the wishbone.

Great stuff. Welcome to the board!

We all love hearing the old stories. Part of what makes Texas football fun is that lifelong fandom.

I am here now, so the party can start.

Glad to see this site go live. Looking forward to great content. Surly (and shaggy before it) has been a good place for aggregated information, and this will turn it up to 11.
