HookedOnTF Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Yes Sark and Arch could do their part to discourage DCs from a full frontal assault, but this sure is crazy to see: 1 Quote
jbseamus83 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Geez. There's just no getting around how bad that is. Sad stuff. 1 Quote
HookedOnTF Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Three out on a limb thoughts: 1) Is our DL too good for our OL's development? Even the DL twos are good enough that I wonder if they've broken the OL's confidence. Instead of developing, are the linemen spending every practice correcting mistakes? Iron sharpens aluminum? 2) Is the OL coach really the answer? Every time we've hired a "top 5 OL coach" since 2010, the result has been the same. Bill Bedenbaugh didn't forget how to coach either, and Oklahoma's line is struggling too. A big name college coach has to align with Sark, and an NFL OL coach might help with scheme and technique, but maybe not with developing 18-year-olds. So is it really as simple as firing Flood and throwing money at the next home-run hire with skins on the wall? 3) Is it strength? Becton has the team fast and well conditioned. The DL anchors well but doesn't really penetrate (bonus pts for big man tuddys), and the OL looks weak. A few years ago I think we brought Dana LeDuc back to work on strength. Is he still around? Is strength training part of the OL's struggle, or do they just not know what to do in live fire? Quote
Aspann85 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago We all know it but that doesn’t make it easier to look at on a spreadsheet. This needs to be papered all over the locker rooms, practice field, weight room, etc as a challenge to the OLine. It’s just simple pride that should be taking a hit…I couldn’t look at my teammates if this was me. I quit my sport because my heart wasn’t in it anymore and I wasn’t helping the team. 1 Quote
HookedOnTF Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Btw, I included Oregon and Oklahoma specifically because they both fired their OCs... 1 Quote

Darrell Mynar Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago Easy to see. Replace Flood with a true OC & turn over play caller to him (Chip Kelly) and hire the Will Muschamp of Oline coaches to run the oline. Call me crazy but whoever does strength & conditioning of oline needs replacing as well because our oline is worse now than any in last 25yrs. Quote

The summer he's in Seattle. 1 Quote

Yeah the underlying data is not opponent adjusted so I added some small weighting factors, but directionally it makes even more sense when you look at our offense vs the supposedly weaker defenses. HookedOnTF Posted 22 minutes ago Author Posted 22 minutes ago (edited) Almost screams effort, no? + how much the opponent watched film, and add in Goosby injury. Edited 17 minutes ago by HookedOnTF Quote
