Alex Butler Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Okaaaaaayyyyy, that’s like comparing Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson’s first few years as cowboys coaches and calling them similar. One is a legend/hall of famed and one carried a gun into the airport. 2 Quote

Remember Tommy needed a miracle to squeak past KU in 19 when we were celebrating the 40 anniversary of the 69 national champions. 1 Quote
jonbailey Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 He might have left out a few rows Conference titles: 0 - 1 Playoff appearances 0 - 1 Bijan Rush Yards: 703 - 2,706 Student athletes kissed: Too many - hopefully zero 1 7 Quote

THookem Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 He’s even dumber than I thought. For the record, I had a very low bar. 1 Quote
TexasDeathStar Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Torre Becton has to call him out for the next barstool rough N’ rowdy. Only way to settle this. Quote
Lnghrn Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 The trajectory of the program under sark is way up and to the right in year 3 and 4. Under Herman it was going down given the terrible culture he created. 2 Quote
Drunk randoke Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Herman’s daughter who’s an adult now put some similar garbage on X. Seems the Herman camp is a tad ass hurt. 1 Quote
Thanos72 Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 His worst years were with Herman’s recruits… 4 Quote
HookemTexas Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 I see they left out draft picks. Lesson #1 I learned in statistics class - you can get the data to tell any story you want, it's all a matter of when you slice it and how you decide to calculate it. 3 1 Quote
Steamboat Willie Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Two completely different trajectories. 4 Quote

Something to consider here called "Trend Lines". A guy with a stock portfolio that he has mismanaged down from $10M to $1.5M and another that has built his portfolio from $0M to $100M. When charted, like the Yahoo above did, they will cross. No relation to one another other than at some point the portfolios were of equal value. It means nothing ....... Other than, all day long, I am investing with the guy whose trend line is going through the roof. This is like comparing tomatoes and Red apples. Both are red and are fruit, but, the comparison is utterly ignorant simply on its face. 1 Quote
Jc Dobbs Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 I remember the recruits committing in waves ... NOT. I also remember great team building ideas like humiliating half the team by serving them burnt toast and runny eggs. And who could forget the urine color charts?! Yeah, those were great times. 1 3 Quote
Alex Butler Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 I will admit I was excited when Herman was hired. He had such a rapid rise and looked to be on the right path to success. I thought he was the man that would bring us back. But his ego and self-centered attitude is what ended up getting him fired. Ironically, some of what happened to him are similar to Sark’s dark years (mainly self-centered egotistical attitude). Yes, we won some games while he was head coach. But at Texas we SHOULD win most of our games, and with Herman it never really felt these guys were playing for each other. Primary example of this was Sam standing alone at the cotton bowl for the eyes of Texas. That was the nail on Herman’s coffin for me. All that controversy surrounding the eyes of Texas AND CDC telling him to fix it was blatant disregard for the fans and the university IMHO. Quote
Kelton H. Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 The biggest difference is that Herman was a dick and didn't get along with anyone which is a big part of the job. Something Dark doesn't seem to have this issue. Quote
Shane Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Herman = 🫏 Sark is going in the right direction and honestly doing it faster than I expected. 1 Quote
syracusehorn Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 One guy is genuinely likeable, honest, and inspiring to the team, university community, and fanbase. The other is a complete a-hole to everyone he meets. Even if these myopic, cherry-picked results are "similar" the experience of everyone involved in Longhorn athletics is night and day. Quote
