From the Cotton Holdings press release but it doesn’t say how much Cotton Holdings is contributing. Seems like that would be the biggest factor otherwise seems a bit overblown.

“As the title sponsor, Cotton Holdings will receive rights to the Lone Star Showdown and associated intellectual property from both Texas A&M and the University of Texas. The sponsorship package includes season-long fan engagement opportunities, exposure through TV and radio broadcasts, in-venue signage, and featured storytelling on social media. Additionally, both universities will benefit from annual contributions to their respective NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) activation funds, courtesy of Cotton Holdings.”

Why did this seem like ATM riding the coattails of UT in this CFB season…as if ATM was a little brother trying to gain attention because big brother UT had all the attention???

Maybe cotton holding should  not have had ATM alum hosting this event—should have been neutral individual given the intense rivalry.

Was this the joint announcement we were all waiting for? I was really expecting a battle royale between CDC and Trevo. Though not sure I like CDC’s chance in a physical battle, maybe a quiz game and spelling bee to round out the contest?

Cotton Holdings as the game sponsor would be peculiar, considering the cotton bowl as the location for TX/OU.

Cotton Holdings doesn't appear to have anything to do with the game or the Cotton Bowl.
