We are going 2-2 over the next 4 at best if we don’t clean up our act. Broughton is an idiot. The o-line is regressing.  Any team with any sort of d-line is going to turtle Ewers.

Come on man, let’s not do that with Broughton. Bad play, really selfish but we don’t have to go there. He’s been really good this year too. One play doesn’t negate all of that.

If that play had cost Texas the game, some fans wouldn’t let it go and treat him like Gideon has been treated after he dropped an interception vs Tech in ‘08.  But yeah, VB’s been balling this season.

That’s true, but unlike the Gideon situation, if we let them come back from down 10 including an onside kick then we probably don’t deserve to win regardless. I expect the coaches to deal with it properly & he knows better too. I felt bad for Kobe Black who made a heck of a play that was negated.

One thing I’ve noticed with Quinn is he had gotten away from throwing with anticipation. He got back to that more in this game, especially in the 1st half & if that continues then he will get back to carving up defenses. I think some of the interceptions spooked him into not wanting to throw into windows but that’s what he needs to do.

I would also love to see Quinn make pre snap adjustments. Nussmeier just brought his TE back in line off the LT because A&M showed pressure on that side. TE chips the outside rusher & gives Nussmeier just enough time to convert a huge 3rd down. I think that could elevate Quinn a ton.

I do believe that the Moore TD was an audible by Quinn, so he definitely does do it.

C'mon guys. Quinn was pretty good. The truth is that at least half of the holding calls on Texas were head scratching. That's probably ten points. My guess is that Texas will be sending film to the SEC of Vandy doing the same thing and not getting called. Still should have won by more, but you take the win and get back to work.

I don't understand how there is no accountability on the OL. The only two guys that should get the benefit of the doubt are Banks and Majors. Every other OL should be benched for series if they continue to make stupid penalties. The miscommunication between Majors and Conner should be unacceptable at this point.

I think they both thought Blue had that man, and Blue instead blocked air.

Good catch, I didn’t see that! I’ll have to go back & watch that but that’s encouraging. Seems like Quinn rarely adjusts protections or anything like that so I think that would take him & us to a different level.

I wonder if the struggles on the OL are causing the coaches to reconsider paying up to get Fasusi? The SEC defenses having given our DL problems and we cannot miss on those guys. You see what’s happening at OU.

The Texas O-line is lightyears ahead of the criminal O-line. Penalties are a problem, not complete lack of talent.

Agree OU’s line is dog $hit, and Texas’ is probably top 15….i was using an extreme example how quick it can change. OU was pretty dominate on the OL last year. If Texas loses 4 of 5 starters it cannot miss on evals.

How many penalties, sacks, and missed blocks do Williams, Campbell, and Connors have to allow before they are replaced at least for a play or two to regain their focus? Sark keeps talking about his meritocracy, but clearly some "are more equal than others."

Who are you going to replace them with?

How about some of the other heralded 4 and 5 star linemen from the 2023 class? Even if it is for a series or two, take them out and get their mind straight.

I agree. All year we have heard of the depth at Oline but where is it when the starters are getting holding calls and the miscommunications over the last 2 weeks. If Quinn can be benched why can’t they?

I stayed off the boards after the game to watch the World Series, and just listened to the post game. They mentioned Sark’s playing calling near the end of the game, but didn’t mention his second down play call

the 2min warning was still applicable so running on first down was important.

1st and Goal with 2:49 - run; ball is set quickly so Texas had to run a second play before the 2min warning (I think 7-9 seconds)

2nd and Goal with 2:07 - incomplete pass, leaving 2 seconds before the 2min warning   If you run there, clock goes to the 2min warning

3rd and Goal (2:02) - run and then clock stops for 2min warning

if you’re playing for a FG, then you run and 2nd down - take the clock to the 2min warning, run on 3rd and either run the clock to 1:30 or force Vandy to use its second timeout

if you were playing for a FG, you run on 2nd, go to 2-min warning and then throw on 3rd where you can install you play during the TO

“Good teams win, Great teams cover”

Sorry you lost your money , but I’m a Texas fan & rarely in our school history does a Texas quarterback throw for so many consecutive completions. Hard fought game against a ranked opponent. Great win in my opinion.

I bet Vandy +18.5. (Took Georgia +4.5 - and using these funds for a playoff trip). That’s a quote that goes around. If Texas wants to be a great team, they blow out the teams they are supposed to blow out.

hopping Sark has a few answers on this bye week
