I am reading rumors that Ewers might return for another year.

Is this a real possibility?

Is there even a way to discuss this this without angering the crowd?

He playing for free? There won’t be any NIL for him at Texas.

No. Time to move on to Arch and he can’t transfer to another SEC team. That leaves only a few quality B1G or ACC teams. Plus staying another year would be an admission that this year was a failure. Therefore his NIL income would drop considerably. No more Dr Pepper ads.

Where are the "rumors" from.

Sources matter.

Texas football quarterback Quinn Ewers didn't have a definitive response when asked Monday whether Saturday's game against Kentucky would be his last game at Royal-Memorial Stadium.

"Who knows?" Ewers said. "I'm just trying to win this week."

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian was presented with the same question.

"No idea," he said.

Ewers, who has one season of eligibility left, came into the 2024 season with first-round NFL Draft hype, but that flame will need some serious rekindling throughout the tail-end of the season for things to play out that way.

He did not appear in recent first-round mock drafts published by ESPN and CBS Sports.
