Rumors of Quinn's return

I have a feeling that if he returns another year, it won’t be to Texas. Arch will be our QB next year.

If Quinn wants to return Sark would welcome him with open arms in my opinion. Beating ULM is not a sign of a seasoned QB . Arch is a fine young man . He has talent no doubt. Would we be 9-1 with Arch at QB-1 in my opinion very doubtful. As far as Quinn returning Sark said “ I have no idea” when asked about it. I believe Quinn’s response was “I haven’t given it a thought.”  I read an article the Cowboys were Jerry Jones said he would love to have Quinn & was looking at ways he could move up in the draft & pick him. Personally Quinn’s gonna probably take the big contract & leave the constant criticism behind. One thing is for sure he loves his Teammates & they love him . He loves Sark & Texas coaching staff . And you can rest assured he will play his heart out for the fans & his school.

Some of reasons he is going pro actually have very little do with play on the field:

1) This is an extremely weak QB class and there are at least 6-7 teams that will be looking to take one relatively early.

2) Sometimes it’s not the worst thing in the world to go in the 2nd or 3rd round to a place where you will get development time instead of going to the Browns in the first round and being thrown into the fire right away with a terrible franchise.

3) He has now missed multiple games with injury in 3 straight seasons. Whether it was bad luck or not, he is going to carry an injury prone tag with some and if he returns and gets hurt again, it’s only going to hurt him more.

He has very little to gain from returning. 12 additional games aren’t going to magically ease all the concerns NFL GM’s will already have about him.

I don’t know why it’s so damn hard for some to just wish a highly successful QB at Texas well and move on without all the drama and hot takes. I sure wish some of yall had our fanbase looking over your shoulder at work awaiting your next mistake so they can replace you.

I agree with you 💯 percent.

Look at the NFL draft and the QBs taken in the first round.  Bobby and Gerry have always said Quinn shines in drills.  He's been hurt, he's probably still not 100%.  His agents will change the narrative between February and April.

If Quinn goes in the 1st round I'd be shocked. This is considered a very weak year for QBs and that is why teams loaded up last year. His injury history is HUGE negative amongst scouts along with inconsistent fundamentals.

I don't know any scouts, but I don't think Jalen Milroe will go before Quinn.

No. Time to move on to Arch and he can’t transfer to another SEC team. That leaves only a few quality B1G or ACC teams. Plus staying another year would be an admission that this year was a failure. Therefore his NIL income would drop considerably. No more Dr Pepper ads.

Hahaha thank you!!! Those Dr. pepper ads are bad and doing anything with Boz is bad juju for any non-criminal.

If his evaluation doesn’t put him in first round ,he could go in Portal to Oregon, Georgia, Alabama or stay at Texas .which is unlikely because Texas fans would treat him like Oklahoma fans treated Rattler . Like dirt .

I’m in the boat that I want Arch to be the QB next year. The irony is OU was in the same boat last year with Dillon Gabriel and Jackson Arnold. I just don’t want Quinn to go somewhere like Oregon and have a successful season like Gabriel and Texas has issues at WR with no running game. It’s too early for Quinn to start thinking about returning any way. He still has a possibility of championship run in front of him, and if they reach that, he’ll probably be a first rounder like J.J. McCarthy was.

The NFL selects horrible QBs like Daniel Jones and JaMarcus Russell in the first round, fans are delusional if they think Quinn  can’t be selected in the first round.  It’s about upside and potential.

Quinn does not have huge upside, though. He has a smaller frame, meh athleticism, and average at best (for the NFL) arm strength. The guy is not exactly Anthony Richardson out there.

I see him as a third rounder you draft primarily as a backup, ala Colt or Sam. Absolute best case would be that is a Baker Mayfield or Kirk Cousins type starter. More likely is a Gardner Minshew type.

Quinn has a huge arm he just doesn’t show it off with zip on short and medium throws. He’s throwing the ball 70 yards down the field with ease. He was doing that at high school camps. A better comp would be Zach Wilson, or Sam Darnold worst case scenarios, but he is up there with Mahomes and Rodgers arm talent wise on his best days. Go back and look at the tape against Bama his first season. Look at the end zone throws out routes this year. Quinn has made some insane throws through the course of his career. He’s just not Peyton at diagnosing defenses, or Brees consistent ball placement.

If I have to go back 2 years to see a specific kind of throw, that says more negatively about Quinn than anything imo

You do realize I pointed out throws this year. Honestly he makes throws every week, but it takes a certain level of understanding to appreciate the little things.
