College Football Bowl Game Thread (Dec. 27)

The Texas that played against Arizona did not play to Texas standard we all know that.

The optimist in me thinks Texas is still on the brink of finding its best game.  Seemed Texas played with their food with Arizona (no offense to Arizona which was a good team today). Hope Sark and his team has a good game plan for OSU.

I thought we would win by more, and knew that Leavitt and Skatterbo were talented; but man they exceeded my expectations.  Leavitt has a good career ahead of him.  Hard to tell how Skatterbo will do at the next level, but no one will work or try harder than him.

Man we really should've used Arch against Georgia more. That +1 in the run game is everything against them

Tide, Ole Miss, and GT gave the road map…we just didn’t read it.

The tough thing when looking at the bowl games other than the CFP ... who is actually playing vs. who has opted out? How many guys have hit the portal that affects depth. CFB is in a bad spot in meaningless games now IMO

National Defensive POY Kyle Kennard and RB Rocket Sanders opted out for the bowl game. Two of the top 4-5 players for South Carolina.

The flip side is Michigan had guys opt out, and won.

I may be overreacting but I think some of the Bowl games may become extinct. Worst case all the bowls fade away just leaving those in the CFP rotation.

A kick return for TD, and a 13-yard TD drive helps. Otherwise, their offense hasn’t done much.

Not much offensively outside a couple of QB runs.  Done a good job capitalizing on Dawg mistakes.  We’ll see if that continues now that GA has to be aggressive on offense.

Looking like the 1-2-3-4 seeds are out before the semifinals, a bit of a surprise at least for # 1 and # 2

And the 5-6-7-8 seeds are in (unless Notre Dame craps the bed).  Hmm, wonder if the extra time off was a factor? I guess Boise and ASU are understandable - both big underdogs - and Georgia just lost their QB and punter in the SEC championship game - and Oregon had a bad matchup, against an angry OSU team that Oregon barely beat at home.

Still, kind of weird.

My opinion having the bye is a huge disadvantage. Too much time off. You face a team with a playoff game under their belt with momentum.
