Steven Conant Posted February 2 Posted February 2 The ball moved around the floor better today and shooting percentage went up to 56% and 47% from three. Those percentages will win in any gym. We get into trouble when the offense is get it to Johnson and watch. 2 Quote

MarkInAustin Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Back from picking up my granddaughter and watching the 2d half that I recorded. Having read all your comments the second half is now going as I anticipated! But I get to fast forward through commercials. Quote
bierce Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Don't look now (or do), but Pomeroy now favors us to win all but two of our remaining games, and he has us in a one point loss at home to Bama and a 3 point loss @ Mississippi State. Most margins of victory are small, so he rounds the percentages to predict us to finish 9-9 in conference, but I would note that we have beaten Pomeroy's prediction in four straight games. I don't think we're going to do anything like win out, but this team has played very well of late. And the players and the coach should be given credit for it. 8 1 Quote

He was an under the radar guy who was not only under the radar but reclassified to start a year early. It was expected he wouldn't play at all last year, but he got a few minutes. On another site, most posters thought it was a waste of a scholarship, but I told them from the beginning that I saw a guy with major hops and agility and a nice shooting form from the perimeter. I saw a really good player there in about 2 1/2 -- 3 years. He might be a year ahead of schedule. Certainly looks the part. Thanks for the recap! 2 Quote
HookemHorns Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Going to have to tip my hat to Terry and the staff as well as the players. I wrote them off but they’ve proven more resilient than I anticipated. We look like a tourney team now, let’s hope they make it! 3 Quote
AusMOJO Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I know LSU isn't that good this year, but man that was a straight up butt whooping. Great job by the players and coaches. 2 Quote

Every game is a big one ... but Arkansas this week in Austin certainly is ... almost a must win. Texas getting to 5-5 in SEC play before the very tough three game stretch of @ Vanderbilt, Alabama and Kentucky would be huge. A win over Arky and Texas will get to 8-10 for sure IMO. Then it's about the chances to finish 9-9 or even 10-8 if the Horns can beat a Kentucky team at home that is terrific on O and the opposite on D. 9 Quote
bierce Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) Pomeroy shifted his lines a little after Arky beat UK by double digits. We're now a 1 point dog in Fayetteville. Edited February 2 by bierce Quote

Arkansas shot really well. Let’s see if that is the case in Austin. That team wanted to beat Kentucky for their coach. Quote
bierce Posted February 2 Posted February 2 We rose to 25th in Net rankings this morning. We're 4-6 in q1 games, thanks to LSU hanging on to the 75th spot, but don't expect them to stay there. Their remaining home schedule is brutal, including Florida, Tennessee, A&M, and Mississippi. Quote

BobInHouston Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Wonder if Texas can handle the second half the way Missouri handled the first half. 1 Quote
