Did not know him personally but I am truly surprised how things turned out for him.  From all the interviews he gave and how people at Desoto high school talked about him, I would not have thought it would had gone sideways so fast.  I know people change and you never truly know someone unless you spend time with them.  It’s just really shocking and sad.  He was my favorite recruit in his class outside of Arch of course.

This is in my town🤯

Hardcore: do you feel like going down to the pokey to tell him people are pulling for him?! Drop the drugs and social media and find a small school to get right. Know a minister who visits prisons?

Hopefully rock bottom flips a switch for him.

Ehh having a backwards idiotic republican government like Texas' doesn't really help y'all or Johntay here. I literally had cannabis products delivered AND with a veteran discount to me before I gave it up, just expensive and never worked for me. Being arrested for it is a waste of resources and time when it's friggin 2025! There are politicians who are far more corrupt wasting billions of dollars that get away with it and the state arrests a young Black man for having cannabis.

Regardless, I hope some of his older and fellow Horns get it through to his head to get rid of his ego or help work on whatever he's dealing with and get him back on the field or at least in school again.

Being a former addict and troubled individual myself, someone has to step up in his life and be his friend even if he doesn’t want to hear it.  This is going to end badly if no one steps up to love this kid.

Agree 100% I’ve been there too. Hate seeing this from this kid.

Anyone being arrested for Possession of Marijuana in this day and age is just ridiculous. Just write them a citation and move on to more important cases.

You honestly this think this is just about possession? Highly doubtful.

Really sad to see JC spiraling.   Hope Johntay gets surrounded by strong support system.   If he would get his mind right, would love to see comeback story somewhere like SMU, Boise State, Arizona St.

He's hardly a kid anymore, but he does need help. Unfortunately, guys like this won't accept any help, they'll need to hit literal rock bottom before they realize the error of their ways.

His best hope currently is that he doesn’t end up in prison or 6 feet under

To the People confused as to why he was arrested for pot possession, he was out on bail from his previous arrest less than 2 weeks ago! What normally would be a citation for most people, wouldn’t apply to JC because there was obviously some sort of probation when you make bail.

Well and it’s a small town, rule #1 is rural small towns us don’t have drugs, even pot.

Agree.   Johntay needs to be surrounded by strong men of character and integrity to help him get right.   Hopefully this is his ‘bottom’ and the turnaround begins.

These legalize pot posts are completely missing the point.  Kicked off 2 teams and in trouble with the law twice, arrested or not, is not the trajectory everyone was hoping for.
