No reason for Pope to only have 4 shots, and Julian Larry to start over him. There are no more 50 to 60 score type games. They don’t let you play football out there like they did when Barnes was at Texas. You gotta be able to score points, and play defense without putting the other team on the FT line.

Let your voice be heard at the town hall meeting next week.  Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Gerry thinks Sean Miller.

I say call in no particular order:

Will Wade, McNeese

Richard Pitino, UNM

Ben McCollum, Drake

Luke Murray, UConn assistant

Don't laugh about Murray.  Jon Scheyer and Tommy Lloyd never had HC jobs before going from assistant to HC at Duke and Arizona.

He’s is going to be wrong. CDC just stole Schloss from the Ags and made him the highest paid coach and staff.

CDC also loves basketball. Gerry is just giving an opinion.

I hope so, but rarely does Gerry say something like that without knowing.

That was one of the most depressing displays I've seen in some time.  Uninspired, poorly coached, and minimal execution.

They played hard.  But chickens with their heads cut off go hard too.

Losing to an 0-13 team in conference by 15 and it was worse much of the time.

Embarrassing loss coming off a week of prep.

RT should be done. Texas isn’t winning in Fayetteville or Starkville.

NIL will change with a different coach that people believe in. It only takes one to make a big difference. Texas has the BMDs to make this happen.

Gerry said it won’t. Sean Miller with the same NIL. They will not pay for a top tier coach.

You said you were a donor so you should know. Not Gerry.

i do like your basketball enthusiasm, but if that is the case then CDC failed

I do donate, but I am nowhere near a BMD. When I read that today I couldn’t believe it. Same NIL with a new coach that’s not top line.

JT Toppin makes you a 22-5 team instead of 16-11 team at this point, right?

Maybe not 22-5, but 19-8.  We probably don't lose to Vandy, Arky, or Tennessee.

Which is not to say that I would think 19-8 would be a good record if we had Toppin.

I’m pretty sure that dollar amount is going to come from revenue sharing for the new coach, doesn’t include OneFund or corporate NIL

I would hope so, but I need to actually see it. CDC says he wants to win a championship in every sport. Gerry literally said nobody has ever talked national championship in Texas mens basketball.

We also didn’t get Tre Johnson, Mark and all the transfers with poor NIL so perhaps not that accurate that basketball won’t be competitive.  Pretty sure we can match NIL of Marquette and Miss St.  to be in at least top 25 most years.

And that is what we had with Tom Penders. Not close to what Rick Barnes did. Not good enough for me.

How do you explain losing big to a previously winless team in your conference when you have tournament aspirations on the line?

Nobody with money believes in Terry so they're not going to put up the amount it would have taken to land him. Get a coach you believe in that is a winner and money will explode.

Everyone knows the standard at UT by now.

I didn't catch Gerry's thoughts on basketball NIL, but I'm certain we can compete with Memphis, Maryland, Michigan State, Purdue, St. Johns's, Tech, Iowa State et al. (all of whom are the top 25).

I like Wade and Murray at this point. Pitinonis interesting but I just don’t think he’s his dad or ever will be in a lot of good ways but don’t think he’s a good fit for Texas. It’s unfortunate but this team has never felt cohesive all season yet we keep getting projected in. Hopefully tonight quashed those dreams. We don’t need to make the tourney and a magical run to jumpstart the program. We need someone focused and committed to creating a winning culture, prioritizing improvement, preparation, and execution offensively and defensively.

Wade would be the best product on the floor. It would get most fans that only watch after football is over excited. Gerry says it’s not happening.
