A difference maker that the mods were talking about.  Would not be surprised to see Texas take a look at him despite not being a necessity.  The safety room is loaded but you never know.

There’s too much experience and talent in the safety room to take one in the portal. It’s really down to just DL, edge, and kr/pr unless there’s more attrition. I only say edge because they brought in the kid from Stanford and jones (I think) from FSU. So they seem to be looking for a difference maker at that spot.

I agree. I think if you add him with Taaffe and Jelani and Williams then you could move Jelani to Star full time. And rotate the safety room.

There really isn’t outside of 3 guys and one guy is coming off an ACL. Outside of those 3 there isn’t much experience.

So far is it only Malik Agbo and Bert Auburn that have entered the portal on the Texas roster? Haven’t heard of anyone else

Freddie Dubose, Reece Beauchamp, and a walk on RB.  I think it's just those five players so far

I get it but safety is a position where it shouldn’t take top talent 3 years to get in the rotation. I want to see the young bucks get in the rotation this year so they are ready for a bigger/starting role next year. I’m expecting Jonah along with 1 of the year 2 guys to be in the rotation and play well next year. Why recruit 5 star talent if you are going to bring in experienced players that block them from the rotation so they hit the portal. Not to mention that’s a lot of NIL money sitting on the bench.

What 5 stars at Texas has this happened to?

If we get Watson we would have the best DL in the country.

That DL would feed families.  Don’t know even with Watson added if they would have anyone there as good as the Sweat Murphy duo but that won’t matter if the EDGE room is as good as we think it will be.  Plus they might add another EDGE in the portal.  OCs are going to be shaking in their boots trying to game plan for PK’s defense this season.

Under Sark 5 stars are developing and getting on the field in the 1st 2 years which is why I don’t see a need for a portal db when you have talent ready to get in the rotation.

Can’t go after him since he’s SEC, but seems like more starting-level DTs are hitting the portal right now.

My guess is they are probably hearing about all the big NIL numbers being thrown out by programs.

I think if the player is a grad transfer, they can play immediately even SEC to SEC.

Per SEC bylaws... The SEC prohibits players from transferring to another team inside the conference during the spring transfer portal window and receive immediate eligibility.

That rule applies for all players, including graduate transfers, who are normally allowed to enter the transfer portal at any time without losing eligibility.
