Everyone loves mock drafts. But every year there is a (usually 1st round) pick that stuns the experts and throws multiple team boards into disarray. Then becomes the headline of next day draft grades.
I can never predict the first major “reach.”
Thoughts ?

Guys I think are better than where they’re ranked and/or expected to go:

- Colston Loveland

- Will Johnson

- Jalen Walker

- Josh Simmons

If I had to guess, Simmons goes a lot higher than expected.

I would not take Ashton Jeanty that high. Makes no sense to me to take an RB in top five unless you’re close to sure that he’s a Hall of Famer.

Shedeur getting drafted, lol.

Someone will give up way too much to move up to get him. That's not a knock on Sanders, but further shows that NFL teams don't know what they're doing at quarterback. They're routinely overdrafted.

Add Kelvin Banks to that list.  His fall off is mind numbing.  Playing the actual game of football against high level competition for four years should be what he is graded on, not an inch or two here or there.  The players are in fact getting drafted to play football, right?  Sheesh, some of these pundits should watch the tape.  IMHO he is a franchise LEFT TACKLE that should go top 10.

If the latest gossip is any indication, he will go before Sanders.

As he should, I personally would take him over Ward and Sanders now. In a few years it might be a different story. It just depends on how each QB develops and plays with the opportunities they are given/earn.

I guess the OMG moment was not a pick/reach, but the Sanders slide.

True that.  Mel Kiper might never recover from that.

The biggest Longhorn OMG moment thus far has been Vernon Broughton selected # 71.  CJ Vogel had VB going # 181 so 110 picks or almost 4 rounds later, and the NFL Mock Draft Consensus had VB going # 123 or 52 spots later (almost 2 rounds).

Seeing Dillon Gabriel picked ahead of several QBs projected higher was a surprise.

Shedeur, Will Howard or Quinn Ewers - who is your pick for next QB off the board?

This didn’t age well. It sounded good at the time though.

Love this thread, clear that wasting my time on mock drafts was pointless. Some straight up goofy pics in this draft.

QB- Tyler Shough, Bueller

RB- Omarion Hampton, bit of a stretch I would say.

DL- the Jets picking that all world performer 😎

WR- Kinda made sense

TE- Loveland before Warren, that’s just the browns being silly. Ever sense Ozzie Newsome they messed this up.

OL picks- always love picking FCS guys over power conference proven commodities, sarcasm

cant wait for Day 3 shenanigans
