Is this a schollie offer or preferred walk-on kinda thing?

Scholarship, every few years you offer one. Every program does it.

Really? Guess I haven’t been paying enough attention. Do we have a scholarship snapper on roster now?

They have full on camps for long snapping. I played tight end and long snapper in high school, still don't know why my coach had the bright idea one day to have me try long snapping lol.

Man... there is a whole long snapping world out there that I had no idea existed.

Exactly. I needed that when I played. It looks easy but takes a lot of repetition to dedicate it to muscle memory, especially if you want to snap without looking. I never was able to do that, I had to look. And I know the rule is you can't hit the long snapper, still happened lol. I was always nervous for the back of my head/neck.

They are doing away with walk-ons.  NIL will take care of the rest

The current Texas snapper Lance St. Louis has been on scholarship since day one. His dad was a long time snapper in the NFL.
