Man I hate to say it but everyone else is just playing for second place. Oklahoma is peaking at the right time as I turned the game on a few minutes ago and they were blasting no doubters probably close to 300'. Pitching is on point right now as well. It's gonna take a team a lot of lucky breaks and some bad performances by OU to dethrone them.

If Canady keep playing the way she is rn, Tech has a chance, but besides that, just gotta get there and see what happens.  OU softball will be winning natties for years to come.  Don't think revenue sharing or the athletic department layoffs will slow them down.

Her pitching is like batting practice for  the other team recently.

Keagan has had some of those issues too.  Except for last night and one other recent game, she has been giving up about an earned run per inning in her last few SEC starts.

For the uninitiated, how many pitches can a softball pitcher throw in a weekend before their arm falls off? Asking for a friend

734 before the arm falls off, but the rest of them get exhausted around 200.

Final Box Score for Kavan:

5.2 IP,  7K, 5H, 0R, 1BB

Incredible game last night.   So much fight in our team to not give up and keep grinding.

Kavan was most impressive in the bottom of the 8th when Clemson had Pipkins on 2nd and Collins on 3rd with no outs.   All Clemson needed was to get Collins across home plate and our season was over.   Kavan got the next 3 batters (Johnson, Brockenbrough and Brown) all out on 12 pitches.

Then in the the bottom of the 9th for an encore, Kavan gave up 1 hit and she got 3 strikeouts (all 3 swinging) to shut the Tigers down.  Bottom of the 10th with 2 run lead, Kavan put it away.    Will make for an awesome comeback if the Lady Longhorns can pull off the W today.

Thinking about what a killer it was last fall when we lost our all-American shortstop (Vivi Martinez) to injury.  That’s really hard to overcome.   This year’s team may not be quite as dominant as the #1 seed Horns Team last season, but they’ve got grit and fight.    Atwood, Scott, Kavan are our 3 all-Americans on the team but Mitchell, Maloney and Goode were extremely clutch last night with 7 hits and 5 RBIs.

Overall, our Longhorns had 13 Hits, 7 Runs and only 3 Strikeouts.    Again, great win, clutch performance.    Let’s go get the series win today and see what happens in the World Series.

Hook em!! 🧡🐂🤘🏼

Goode and Maloney giving us an encore start tonight with 2 hits and 3 RBIs combined through first at bat following their clutch performance last night.

Hook em! 🧡🤘🏼🐂
