Kirby giving Sark the business right now in 2026 recruiting and 0-2 on the field against Kirby. I guess winning on the field still matters in recruiting.

So Calicut was promised a shot a CB and we were beaten on a top DT when we have 3 committed with another on deck… and that represents Kirby giving Sark the business?  Not so sure about that.

Yep the overreaction is is so on brand.

Not even close to the finish line. When the games start I’m confident the product on the field will change a few recruits minds.

Definitely a big game in Athens this year. Time to flip the momentum in that series back to Texas.

Finished last season ranked #4 and Georgia #6

Texas went to back to back semi-finals.   Georgia didn’t make semifinals either year

Texas had #1 Recruiting Class, Georgia #2 in most current recruiting class.

Texas had more wins and more NFL draft picks the past 2 yrs.

Yes, we lost to h2h against Georgia last season (twice) but bigger picture, Texas (and Sark) aren’t getting manhandled by anyone, including Kirby and Georgia.    Looking forward to playing at Georgia this season.

Irrespective of recruiting, winning the SEC means Georgia is the dragon Texas has to slay. It's no different than what Georgia has had to deal with under Kirby with Alabama.

Still, I'd much rather be entertaining that conversation than the ones in which I was engaged before Sark righted the ship.

Unlike recruiting in the Lost Decade at Texas... now potential recruits must consider the depth the Longhorns have. This is especially true at certain positions. So nowadays a young man has less of a "guarantee" of early playing time as a Freshman.

In addition, in this era of NIL and the Portal, a recruit is choosing a school and team in a more complicated market/environment than in the past.

I don't enjoy seeing players go elsewhere when Texas is recruiting them, but a few years ago I got very tired of seeing the Longhorns coaches taking lower rated players because they didn't even try to go after the top recruits.

Could you imagine having to sell perpetual 8-5 and doing so in College Station,TX?

A&M usually doesn't keep a coach long enough to see how that might work for a prolonged stretch. A new coach at least gives you the chance to sell hope.

Straight facts! People forget not too long ago, Texas was losing recruiting battles to TCU AND BAYLOR ! Enjoy what you have at this moment and time.
