I will say that I am worried that our secondary may devolve back to its '23 version without Mukuba & Jahdae and that'd be a huge problem with the that Ohio St WR room. That's the one thing still giving me pause but I believe the pass rush will negate it to the point that Sayin will start but we'll see Keinholz some as things get a little overwhelming for the young QB. Think Georgia at Texas this past year.

I can respect that. Ryan Day isn’t the type of coach to pull a QB once he’s made a decision though. So assuming one of the QB’s win the competition in fall camp, they would have to show no progress over several games before Day made the switch. He is very patient with his QBs, it seems like Sark is as well not giving into the pressure to replace Ewers with Arch.

I do think we will see LK in this game, maybe some redzone to open up a new dynamic with the offense. LK is 6’3” 215lbs and much more athletic than Sayin.

I think a big difference with the Ohio State team that Texas faced in the Cotton Bowl and the Ohio State team they will face on 8/30 is that they brought in the #1 TE transfer from Purdue (Max Klare). It has been quite some time since Ohio State has had a receiving TE on his level. My hope is that when Texas blankets JJ Smith, it’ll open up the seams to hit Klare. In my opinion, Ohio State has the #1 WR room and the #1 TE room in the country.

We're definitely fully aware of Klare and we'll have a stud transfer portal TE of our own in Jack Endries. I still think Texas (especially in game 1) will be able to rattle Sayin in his first start with what is imo the best pass rush in cfb. While your Smith, Klare, Tate, Innis, etc scare me those guys still need Sayin to get them the ball. Cutting off the head of the snake makes it much easier to neutralize all of those weapons.

Think of the 2007 New England Patriots vs the NY Giants in the Super Bowl. As great as Brady's weapons in Moss, Welker & co. were the Giants rattled the great Tom Brady enough that it neutralized all of those great weapons. At the end of the year, I think Sayin and Ohio St will be much more dangerous but for game 1 of his career against this opponent, it's a bit of a tall task.

I don’t fault you at all for being confident. I just think Ohio State’s offensive line is going to negate some of that. Especially up the middle.

Early congratulations, I’m a subscribed member on an OU board. It’s entertaining. I’m hoping to see it burn down for them, and them become Nebraska, Arkansas, Army etc.

I don’t see you in the same boat. I see you eventually sipping some of the finest burnt orange kool aid yourself. 🤘🏾

I just can’t imagine Michigan with a true freshman QB going into OU and beating them. I know OU is only -2.5, so Vegas thinks it’ll be close, but I can’t see them winning.

Thanks for your response. I hope Michigan doesn’t start the freshman, but I hope they have a package of plays for him.

Not so fast. That’s on paper. I got Wingo making some big plays in this one. 4 catches 137 yards 2 TDs. Moore will have the most catches with other guys factoring in. A lot of motivation for Texas passing game in this one, especially for Moore, Wingo, Livingstone, and Mosley.

Sark is a masterful play caller and Texas has talent everywhere so it could happen. It won’t be easy though as Ohio State’s secondary should be elite once again.

Not just Caleb Williams, Texas has problems with new QBs, Stockton at Georgia brought them back when they couldn't move the ball at all.

Both midgame switches and the coaches didn’t adjust the game plan fast enough.

It’s Sayin, (just sayin) the competition is a facade.

Agreed.  OSU will be keeping any and all team info very close to the chest until August 30

Interesting article about recruiting at tOSU.  Ohio State football team might lose another five-star recruit thanks to Ross Bjork https://share.google/atUq59CVdw5mcnFHo

Don’t pay attention to that. Those are the same Ohio State fans that blame someone for every recruit lost. “Oh we lost a recruit to Texas, only because they outbid us”

Bjork’s been crushing it at Ohio State, but he came into a much different culture at Ohio State than the one at Texas A&M.

@LovingBuckeye what is the position of concern on this years Ohio state team? Or you think Ohio state is weak at

In my opinion, 1, 2, and 3 biggest concern is at QB.

Now don’t take that as JS & LK have looked bad, but all reports they both look very capable of being QB1 at Ohio State. It’s more the fear of “what if…”

After that, really just DT depth. Ohio State (just like Texas is) is loaded everywhere else and depth to spare.

That would be unusual for Day. Most believe he’ll announced QB1 at his Monday, 8/18 or Tuesday, 8/19 press conference. That lines up with the time frame he has announced all other QB competition winners, aside from Kyle McCord & Devin Brown two seasons ago.

How do you feel about the OTs? I know the interior is really good from guard to center

When Ohio State fans hate on Bjork, they aren’t taking account of hires like this. This is something Ohio State rarely did at this point in the off season before Bjork. Ohio State is spending money, just not on unproven high school recruits. Some Ohio State fans are slow to adapt that there are other ways to spend money.

The IOL should be the strength, but we feel very confident in our OT’s as well. IOL and OT’s have quality depth as well.

That doesn’t mean they can hold up for an entire game against Texas’ defense, but we feel the OL will be better than last season, and potentially one of Ohio State’s best in a decade plus.

Why would you waste time on an OU board?

Since Bralan Womack was brought up, did we ever contact him @Gerry Hamilton? 6’0 tall safety with 4.4 speed and a 3.7 GPA (although it’s Mississippi, so grain of salt) seems like a worthwhile effort even with as stacked as we are at safety. You might be able to kick him around to star or CB as well.
