That's why it's ironic that LJ is supposedly ready to expand the DT rotation now. Knowles begged Day to let him actually run the defense for 2 1/2 years. It took the Oregon loss to convince Day that Knowles should have his say on blitzes. There was no need for blitzes against Michigan, but LJ still wouldn't rotate the DTs. Knowles finally won out on that in the playoffs and they won the title. Knowles won the game against Texas, not Day or Kelly. That's why he left.
