I was talking that from my standpoint Sark didn't have tape on Martindale before going into Ann Arbor, he watched a lot of Ravens tape and had his team prepared. I'm just saying having a new DC isn't the adavantage it seems to be. The continuity Texas has enjoyed is more of an advantage. They get to do what they've been doing since day 1 of Sark. If Patricia comes in with all these exotic coverages and schemes he's more likely to confuse the defense not Arch.

I agree

Just hope all you OSU fans  come back on 08/31… hopefully don’t look like Kirk Barton afterwards.

I can only speak for myself. I will be back regardless to tell ya'll good game and I hope to visit Austin (for the second time) next September.

For the most part it's just banter going back and forth. A little cordial trash talk is what sports are all about.

@LovingBuckeye what are your thoughts on the Ross Bjork era so far?

I actually really like Bjork. I know this is probably taboo to say here, but I think A&M has one of the best, if not the best atmospheres in college football. I think from his time in the SEC, he’s trying to bring a lot of that to Ohio State. From President Ted Carter, down to Bjork and then Day, Ohio States administration has ever been more aligned in regards to the football program in my life.

I have been to DKR by the way, recently too, and I always tell my friends, Texas does tailgating and everything outside of the stadium right, is a great time.

I think having an AD that made his bones in the SEC is a huge plus for Ohio State. There is a segment of the Ohio State fan base who blames all recruiting losses on Bjork, but that’s the lunatic fridge that Herbie was talking about. The fridge that can’t possibly fathom that maybe Kaliq Lockett picked Texas for more reasons than “only because they outbid us”.

No doubt.  Nothing but respect for the Long Horns.

Unfortunately for Texas fans that visited Ohio st can’t say the same for the fanbase after our win there.  Worse behavior of any fanbase that UT fans have ever witnessed.  20 years since that game and if you go in any UT website the overwhelming worse fan experience was that game.   Hope they are better this year.

So sorry to hear that.  I was at that game in 2005.  One of the best games I have ever been to Young to Sweed at the end broke my heart but I have never heard the stadium as loud as that game.  I hung out with Long Horn fans at my tailgate and they were great and fun to talk too.  The issue is so many OSU fans that come to tailgate and do not go to the game get sauced all day and act like idiots.  I would reccomend  staying away from high street after the game mostly drunken students and other tailgaters in the bars.  Go to Upper Arlington (nice Suburb five minutes from OSU campus or Grandview and there are plenty of Pubs/Bars you can watch games and have a meal/cocktails without being harassed by drunken idiots.

Going to be aa great game....  Hoping for no injuries to either team and no BS calls by the Refs for either team.

Yeah, Texas fans don’t deserve that. Tennessee fans however, I’m glad they got the Texas treatment. There is no trashier fan base than Tennessee.

Yup, still to this do NO LOSS has EVER effected me more than the ‘05 loss to Texas. None of the losses to Michigan, none of the losses in national championship games, that game f’d me up for a while.

I wasn’t talking about Texas fans by the way. I was talking about the set up around the stadium. The mini state fair games, the silent DJ on the hill, such a good time.

Yep, we got more than our fair share of stupid drunken fools. Not something to be proud of for sure. Night games are a problem, if we happen to lose, it seems it's open season for all the idiots.

Really enjoyed the visiting Buckeye perspective. Made me realize, or at least remember, that all fan bases are biased. That’s the beauty of being a fan. I was talking to a big BYU fan the other day and he was convinced they’d be 10-2 at worst. It’s the beauty of the offseason. Every year some are right and some are wrong but there’s nothing wrong with some optimism.

Ultimately Texas and Ohio St are highly ranked by the AP and Coaches poll because they have a lot of talent. It’s silly to assume one team will easily beat the other. May happen of course, but more likely it’s a good game. The final score may or may not reflect that, like the semi final last year. It’ll probably come down to who makes the big plays. Both big plays last year were made by Ohio St (end of half screen pass, strip sack/fumble return). Here’s hoping those go Texas’ way this year.

It’ll be a challenge for sure. I think our guys will be up for it. We will see in 8 days!

Yup, 100%. There’s a reason Vegas has this under a FG line.

By game time line will be a pick em.

It could be. I think it’ll be OSU -5.5 by game-time. A lot of casual bettors right now who believe Ohio State is the only team in this matchup to lose talent from last year’s game. Also, a lot of unearned Arch hype right now. Professionals are going to let this line drop as much as possible and then hammer Ohio State at 9am on 8/30.

Interesting.

And ironic.  True on the unearned hype for Arch.  Yet yall are hyping Klare and his 4 career TDs.  You’re hyping your 3 returning DLine guys with their total of 8 sacks or whatever.  Your interior oline.  All unearned as well.

You didn’t just lose talent.  You lost a lot, of not just starters, but multi-year starters from your better unit.

No doubt. Good Point, we lost 14 to the NFL draft.  Lots of questions to be answered.  Frankly, I wish we were playing you guys week 3 or 4 instead.  Guessing Texas would prefer to also play us after a couple tune ups so your newer O-line has tie to gel.  Minimize mistakes by the QB and solid play in the trenches or a critical turnover most likely decide the outcome.

Playing Texas week one is much better for Ohio State though. Offensive line takes the longest to gel and become a cohesive unit.

I personally don’t see the irony in it. All of those guys have played hundreds more snaps than Arch. Arch’s toughest start came vs a Mississippi State team that was blown out by Toledo.

Beau Atkinson had 7.5 sacks himself last season as a backup at North Carolina.

But please don’t take my “unearned hype for Arch” as the insult it comes across as. There’s a very real chance Arch earns that hype against my Buckeyes. There’s a reason Texas are the favorites to win the national championship. Vegas loves Texas’ D and Vegas believes Arch is the real deal.

Didn’t you say earlier that Arch would struggle to pass in  front of 100,000 people and likely would only have success with his legs? You can’t have it both ways my guy. And if you think OSU will be -5.5, remember one thing. Don’t Get High Off Your Own Supply.

McDonald has played 247 snaps.  Houston 141.  Hartford 253.  McLain 107.  Montgomery 305.  Siev 495.  Peoples 94.  Sayin 27.

Arch 260.

Either act in good faith or don’t act at all.  But you are correct that not all experience is the same.
