Some of yall take this way too serious. Be a fan.  Watch the game, enjoy some food, and let a team unfairly crowned by the national media as champs grow into a great team. They will have many more opportunities to play well. Im sure everybody in here was amazing at their skill/job on the first day.

I was surprised by the lack of enthusiasm and energy in this game, both from the teams and the crowd. For all the buildup, this game was actually a bit of a bore.

1st game of the season...had a chance to tie it after playing (offensively) like sh1t all game..

Made a lot of mistakes and lost the turnover battle...things happen.

Was Sark too conservative early? Probably. But Arch has to hit those throws. Not sure if that’s something that has shown up in camp or if it was just nerves in a huge game on the road. But it has to get better for this to be a playoff team this year.

Defense was incredible as expected. Run game looked solid. OL was very good. 

Even the short throws that were completed required receive to make difficult catches. Quinn was so good at putting the short pass in a good spot to allow receiver to get some YAC yardage

You guys have a great team with generational receivers.  We kind of shut down the passing game as well considering.  I doubt many teams hold your 2 top receivers to under 50 yds each.  Moral victory I know, but we have to have something to build on . We need to clean up penalties and Arch needs to grow. I was happy with defense and kicking game . They played winning football.  Hope we see you again

Agreed, not a great game for either team, but we made more mistakes (some were perceived mistakes by the ref.) and had red zone issues again.  Sark called a game that was completely different than what we expected or were used to.  Personally, I was not too happy about that.  We weren't good offensively but we still led in just about every offensive category.  Hopefully this was a learning experience and wake up call for all the players.

Arch should have been better. Sark should have done what Arch was comfortable with.

But that said…Texas had more yards running and passing. And had a chance to tie it. The redzone issues for Sark are real and undeniable.

Unbelievable you can lose a game running for 4.5 ypc and holding the other team to 2.3 ypc. Man, after practice reports, this OL is in a much better place than we were lead to believe. Pass pro was frequently pretty good too. Once Manning settles down, we are going to be dangerous. I can't wait for Baxter to get healthier too. If he gets his one cut ability back, we are going to be tough. Hopefully Mosely isn't out too long because I'm keen to see him be reliable guy finding gaps in zone for Arch.

What is our identity? We looked like we didn't have a clue on offense. I had to take off my glasses at one point and as I was squinting I swear I saw James Franklin on our sideline.

Actually agree. Also day was smart enough to realize he can’t call a game and be a HC and made the change. That change got him a title.

Certainly hard to get excited about the playcalling and WRs but unfortunately neither of those really even mattered when the QB is so completely incapable of executing any aspect of the passing game. Still very optimistic about him this year but Arch played losing football today. Sucks

He did him no favors early on with the playcalling to get him going especially on the road.

We can actually run the ball between the tackles this year. We made holes consistently. 5 yoc for Wisner and 4 for Baxter who is clearly not fully healthy yet. If the QB can start hitting the broad side of a barn, we will be dangerous. If this is Arch's worst game after finally showing some life in that 4th quarter, I'll take it. Never felt this good after a loss. I mean, we were flat out better on the line of scrimmage against the defending champs. It's not a bad place to start. Also, NO major injuries. The noncon games are glorified scrimmages. Especially game 1, I don't think it will be held against us much when it comes to CFP seeding. Just need to get it done in the Swamp and go win the SEC.
