Ohio State might be in trouble going against PSU, unless our run game and run D is just really good.

The way Texas ran the ball and stopped the run wasn't a fluke.

As solid as the offensive line was overall, what jumped out to me was Texas going 0-for-8 on rushing attempts with two or fewer yards to convert that resulted in a first down or a touchdown.

I don’t think this stat is correct. The first Arch QB sneak was converted on 4th and 1. And Wisner also had a few first down runs on 2nd and 3rd and 2 or less.

I was blindsided by this. I didn’t expect perfection but competent play. Texas couldn’t complete a forward pass for long stretches.

The gameplan was hideous especially when you have all off season.

I went from thinking we have one of the best QBs in the land, to do we have one at all.

Love to see the overreactions in the comments! Was a fun game to go to

I'm sure it was an incredible environment. Hopefully, no negative interactions with the Ohio State fans.

Question about Sark as a play caller: In games against top defenses, does he spend too much time early in the game trying to set them up later for a big play, instead of just doing what seems to be working? I know it’s one of his calling cards, but it seems like maybe it’s gotten us into too big a hole against OSU and the first time against GA?

Boy, this sums up how I feel, especially because Sark has been so good in these early-season games.

Could be worse guys, Bama’s looking like poop vs FSU.

I saw it coming. I called this game as a potential week one upset- certainly didn’t see Bama covering like 17 points away.

I truly think Bama could go like 6-6 this year, possibly even worse than that. People highly devalued how much of a cheat code Milroe’s running was and de-emphasized the uncertainty around Ty Simpson (who had lest PT than Arch).

People also highly devalued FSU- the 2-10 was an anomaly that they could quickly bounce back from to at least be a competitive 8-4 team. The team gave up last year. They’ve come out highly motivated now and Castellanos is looking like a guy that could be invited to New York in December.

You get what you give out. I try to as kind as possible in away environments… after all, I’m there to represent my school

We are clearly more like Penn St as a program than Ohio St and Georgia at this time. Penn St loses a lot of games like you saw today. Hopefully we can get that fixed and bounce back.

I believe it. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we’re significantly improved there. I think Manning was probably even a factor there- don’t know for sure, but it did seem Ohio State was playing things conservatively and not allowing deep shots, opening things up a bit in the box.

Yeah, I missed something there. I'm going to come back to it.

It almost felt like Sark put his team out there to sink to see how they would respond. I was baffled at how he didn't help Arch early on in this game like he would with Quinn. Maybe we will get to keep Arch for three years starting.

When was the last time PSU or UGa have played a true road game against a Top 5 opponent in week one? I’ll wait

I don't look at it as a Quinn vs. Arch thing. But the game Sark called in the first half was lacking creativity, imagination and an absence of the things that make his offense tough to stop.

More referring to Sark's record in top 5 matchups

Yes. I expect Georgia and perhaps Florida will be better along the lines of scrimmage than OSU was, but that should bode well against everyone else on our schedule.

Play calling may not have sparkled but this loss was on Arch- He will be fine but he was awful in the short game. If the throw behind Wingo was on the money, we have a different outcome and no one is doubting Sark.

The defense has outperformed the offense throughout Sark's tenure (except for year 1). It is very difficult, and rare, for a HC to be an elite OC at the same time. I don't think Sark can do it. He needs to find someone to call plays. It's no knock on him; it's almost universal that teams have separate playcallers. There's just too much going on simultaneously to not delegate that job.

Guys - where was the “vaulted” DLine? We looked PEDESTRIAN

where was #1 on key plays???

As I wrote, the pressure didn't get home, but they made a few things happen and did a great job against the run.

I’m so annoyed of this game and play calling. It was evident by the statistics that Texas was the better team.

On a bright note, Graceson Littleton is going to be a star. Maybe the next great Thorpe winner.
