Bobby Burton Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Losing sucks. To the core. So people spend time trying to figure out how not to lose next time. That and myriad other reasons are my professional opinion. 7 Quote

As a player and even more specifically, as a DB, I was taught to have a short memory. OSU is over and I'm already moving on to the next game. 4 Quote

Joe Zura Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago That’s why I don’t look at twitter or this message board during Texas games it’s pathetic 7 Quote
Oldest Horn Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago It’s funny when teams open with like minded teams. My guess is Bama isn’t as bad as they looked, and neither are we or Clemson. 4 Quote

A win and there's no reason to play the rest of the season, give us the natty already. A loss, and it's fire errbody, Sark sucks, Arch is a bust, and Texas should disband the football team. 4 Quote

That is much more of an exaggerated, overreaction than anything said here. What's your specific complaint? Arch sucked? Yeah, he did. We still suck in the red zone? Yeah, we do. It only cost us the game against the defending national champions. 2 Quote

I have an observation, this was week one against the best team probably we'll face all year. I don't control how fans think, nor will I try to, opinions are far and wide. I enjoy them them and some are absolutely comical. 4 1 Quote

A bunch of “Oh Noes. We suck!” Usually a suggestion or three that “We fire or reassign a coach.” Someone will bop in with a “…but how will this affect recruiting ?” thread. And, of course, you get sanctimonious threads like this one where someone claims moral high ground for “not overreacting.” It is what it is, and you can copy and paste most of the posts minus a few game specifics on any sports message board in America. Fair enough but I'm not claiming a moral high ground. I just watched the game differently. How fans feel is how they feel. Some of the reactions from my POV are comical. 3 Quote

Yes, it’s sanctimonious. A claiming of some fictional internet high ground because fanatics react emotionally to the thing they love. 1 Quote

harveycmd Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It's not sanctimonious or self-aggrandizing to say that claiming we suck or Sark needs to stop calling plays is an overreaction. That was a close game against a really good team on the road. If you were a Bama fan, you'd have reason to be really concerned. They were terrible in all facets of the game against a mediocre team. 2 Quote

Some folks get a laugh out of people losing their minds over game one of a long season. And somehow you had to react to that, didn’t you? Were you being sanctimonious in your own right? Sure looks that way… 2 Quote

DeBoer was dumb enough to follow the undisputed GOAT, and, minus a great season, will probably be on the hot seat at the end of the year. Alabama fans have forgotten what it is to have a mortal football program like the rest of us. We sucked yesterday. It’s ok to say that. It’s not a crazy take. We score 7 points, and lost a game where Ohio State barely bothered to try to play offense. People suggesting that Sark might need to surrender the reins as a play caller are also not over the top. Particularly given that the guy who just beat him twice consecutively did just that. It’s been an ongoing topic of conversation for some time now. No, I haven’t joined that chorus yet. Overreacting would be calling for the firing of the entire staff or quitting on the season. People are people, all of these reactions are expected, and could be largely preprinted for them if anyone bothers to pay attention to message board behavior. We looked like microwaved dog turds on national tv ranked number one against a huge opponent after a preseason of hearing how good we are going to be. The reactions are expected. Don’t talk down to people for them just because they don’t fan like you do. Quote
