Yeah, I might be starting to worry a little. It's 3 weeks in a row of the same miscues, the same penalties, the same mistakes. Yes we're missing some guys, but against UTEP? No wonder Ohio State didn't need to do much of anything offensively, they knew our O couldn't do anything.

Did we completely change the O up or something? I've no idea what is causing Manning to look this bad right now. He has flashes of brilliance, but most of it is just bad. OL looks bad. I know we aren't supposed to openly criticize things because "playoffs two years in a row" but boy are the wheels coming off a little this year.

I miss QE and have reciepts from all that bagged on him.

If I was one of them, name and shame me lol. Because I deserve it.

We should be. He’s arguably the worst QB in the SEC.

Worst offensive in the SEC. Shocking considering Sark is tabbed as a QB whisperer/genius play caller and has a top 3 talented roster in the country. His offenses are underwhelming and QB development have been underwhelming. Looked great with Saban in his hip pocket though, who didn’t.

I knew we were inexperienced on O so I understood some struggles but they haven't gotten better in 3 weeks. Last week they were good in a short burst of great play and then long periods of nothing. Struggle to move the ball, struggle to get a push against lesser competition, struggle to run the ball (I don't care that your top guys are out, you should still be able to run better).

It's not so much the score (again) that bothers me, it's the level of play being put out there.

Couldn’t agree more. Basic execution vs far less talented teams is a major issue. These same issues get exposed vs ranked opponents, why Sarks record is a losing one vs ranked opponents. It’s been an issue since he’s been the HC, yet it’s often never talked about. Out talent unranked teams, get out coached vs ranked ones when talent is similar. The OL couldn’t get consistent push vs UTEP, it’ll be dominated vs the Georgias of the world, just like last season.

I just don't understand what the issue is. Makes no sense to me. We'll hear the same 'ol things from Sark "we gotta play better, we gotta execute better, we gotta play complimentary football", etc. But when will that reflect on the field? If you're struggling to consistently move the ball against lesser teams, how do you expect to beat Florida? OU? Georgia? Texas A&M?

I'm trying not to be a negative nelly, because being straight up negative is of no benefit to anyone but what I'm seeing right now is the same product getting put out every week and zero improvement. That is a concern.

Discipline, it’s why Texas is one of most penalized teams as well. All comes down to discipline and accountability. He clearly isn’t holding the team accountable enough, as he says, “you get what you put in or preach”. He continues to talk about a standard, what standard? The standard shown in games isn’t very high.

Well I guess, but also discipline doesn’t affect Arch’s ability to throw the ball into the f*cking turf

Arch throwing into the turf isn’t a lack of discipline; it’s a failure of coaching and development. A third-year QB with elite talent shouldn’t be making fundamental mistakes like that. At some point, it’s on Sark to teach, correct, and scheme around it, not shrug and call it a fluke.

Texas Penalties per Game Rank:

2025 - 120(9.0) - This week isn't counted yet
2024 - 94(6.4)
2023 - 99(6.6)
2022 - 68(6.1)
2021 - 58(5.8)

We have been one of the most penalized teams in the country.

More stationary quick stuff would be beneficial.

That’s not youth, that’s not bad luck, that’s a program that isn’t being held accountable and a coaching staff failing to instill discipline. At this level, fundamentals and mental errors are on the coaches, and right now, that’s where the real problem lies.

Time to recruit COLLEGE quarterbacks and surround him with NFL talent

instead of recruiting “pro style” quarterbacks

it’s not sarks cup of tea but it should be out of necessity … Tebow won 2 national titles (with the help of Chris leak - which further proves the point)

“Pro Style” is a thing of the past. The top QBs in the NFL can all run. I’d wager Arch can beat you with his legs so he fits the mold of a modern NFL QB. But yeah, recruiting QBs who can’t run is a huge mistake, Caldwell and Owen’s fit into that “Pro Style” mold and Sark still believes he can win with players like that or he wouldn’t have recruited them IMO. I don’t believe that to be true though.
