Yep.

I truly believe betting and gambling on games in pro and college by the athletes is way worse than we believe.

There was a Texas athlete recently that made me do multiple double takes when watching games.

It's wild because who could have ever anticipated that the normalization and unchecked proliferation of gambling could lead to this?

Remember the past or repeat it.

Billups situation is poker with the mafia. Rozier is another story

That's what he has been arrested for, true. But I'm willing to bet (pun intended) that if you're that deep in with the mafia over poker there is some stuff going on with basketball too. There will be a lot more uncovered in the investigation.

1. If you believe that is all there is to the story, I'd say that is highly unlikely.

2. Organizations and individuals can use leverage against those in positions of impact in sports to affect the outcome of games. This is why it is absurd for the NCAA to allow any gambling for college athletes.

Billups, Rozier and guard Damon Jones who was also arrested all played for Rick Pitino. It was pretty interesting when Rick benched RJ Luis during the tournament game they lost last year.

Gambling has been an obvious problem in sports for a long time. Ali/Liston 2 having to be fought in Lewisville, Maine was due to concerns about the integrity of the fight then we saw Liston take the dive.

There was a receiver for Texas about 10-15 years ago that I'm convinced to this day was on the take in multiple games and even afterwards when he transferred to Arizona I saw him sell multiple times. I have no proof and that's the scary part. Who controls the accountability? Most of them are in on it too, the factions of deep protection.

Billups played at Colorado… no Pitino unless in the pros.

Pitino coached him and Damon Jones in Boston and Rozier at Louisville. Pitino is probably involved is my first instinct.

Purely coincidence that this drops the night after the NBA opens a new season, right?

No one is talking about Wemby's great game or VJ Edgecombe scoring the most points for a rookie in his opener since Wilt Chamberlain or ...
