TexasFanatic Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) QB - Arch RB - Portal or Wisner/ Simon / Cooper (Baxter is pushed out and Wisner is tbd on NFL) WR - Portal (Texas has to get a legit WR1 or maybe even 2 if they want to maximize Arch) WR - Mosley (Moore goes to the portal) WR - Wingo (he’s a JAG but when he is on he is awesome- needs to work on his hands and route running) TE - Endries / Townsend (Washington portals) LT - Goosby LG - Portal C - Robertson RG - Portal RT - Baker Edge - Simmons SAM - Spence DT - Kanu / Terry DT - January / Watson Jack - Jackson / Zina LB - Lefau / Portal LB - Smith or Spence / Atkinson CB - Littleton CB - Phillips or Black NB - Portal S - McDonald S - Filsaime / Portal FYI I am aware portal players will be added and we rotate a lot. I think we add another Portal CB and a DT from the portal too Edited 2 hours ago by TexasFanatic 1 Quote
alrightalrightalright Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I like Kade Phillips taking that CB spot over Kobe Black. I also like Warren Roberson's physicality in the rotation if he can put it all together... time will tell. I think this is realistic base as we head toward the offseason. 1 Quote
Steamboat Willie Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago So there will be no development on offense of current players? Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 41 minutes ago Moderators Posted 41 minutes ago Going to be interesting to see who Texas pushes to retain and who they allow walk. This isn't to sound alarm bells, but I could see 15 or so departures this year. Texas had 13 a year ago, I would suspect it to be a little bigger this offseason. Quote

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 31 minutes ago Moderators Posted 31 minutes ago I feel great about the front seven next year. Probably will add another portal DL just to be sure, we’ll see how expensive they go. A LB add wouldn’t be a shock. Definitely a portal addition at safety, maybe two. Certainly a take at cornerback. And that’s probably not a bad thing… in the NIL era you pay recruits based off their projections, and when they fail to live up to it I’m sure the NIL package changes, and guys will look for other opportunities. The staff has to do this because they can’t afford to lock up NIL dollars with underperforming players or they will lose their jobs. its the unfortunate side effect of the NIL day and age, yes players get paid, like employees, but that also means they will be fired/cut like an underperforming employee would at a job. 1 Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 25 minutes ago Moderators Posted 25 minutes ago Also, fwiw, I’ve heard Sarkisian wants to be more involved in portal evaluations. He obviously has been very involved in the past, but I think he knows the buck stops with him at the end of the day and he’s ready for his roster to be 100% based off of his decision making and personnel choices. Isn’t his deep involvement part of the issue? It feels like he’s just spreading himself to thin, and that’s been well reported. 1 Quote

It shouldn’t be an overlapping issue in December, however. Quote
Breezey A LH4LIFE Posted 6 minutes ago Posted 6 minutes ago @CJ Vogeldo you think Texas takes a rb? Quote
