Absolutely! I can't believe a revered HS coach like McGuire has allowed him to remain on the roster. The great thing about team sports is that you learn accountability to each other. By McGuire permitting him to remain on the roster, he's put all the other players in conflict. They know it's wrong as well. The have to be feeling confused. I doubt most of them want to be on a team that has a player who bets on his team.  The Tech staff is throwing out all the years of accountability these players have learned at all levels of competitive sports. If he gets his injunction, wish him well, but say not on my team.

Athletes are warned about gambling constantly. There’s no ambiguity, no gray area, and no excuse. Hiding behind the word “disease” after getting caught feels less like accountability and more like a PR shield to avoid consequences. Plenty of people struggle with addiction without compromising the integrity of a competitive sport watched and wagered on by millions. If Tech wants to be taken seriously (they probably don’t) it shouldn’t reward that behavior with a roster spot and a fresh start like nothing happened.

Preach. NIL and the downstream issues are relatively new, but the bright line rule against gambling on your own team is literally over 100+ years old.

We all know Campbell's true motive, but since he tries to hide behind fairness and the integrity of the sport, this is an issue that puts his reality and his facade in conflict.

He's gonna defer unless the pressure to make his position known becomes overwhelming.

Well said. If Cody C was just another donor it would be one thing. The fact that he has placed himself squarely in the center of the future of college athletics means he needs to clearly assert where he stands on this issue.
Otherwise he comes off as just another future politician playing both sides.

Well said Gerry! Great Piece! Spot On!!! I believe that Campbell NOT saying anything is in fact, his position. His Actions are for all to see. His Actions of allowing the process to play out AFTER Sorsby has admitted his rule breaking behavior and with intent by the way. Sometimes it is not what you, but what you do not do. I don't look for Campbell and the TTU Staff to verbally have any comments, but their actions are enough for me. Which brings me to another big issue - at least for me.  That is, on this forum and The YT Channel there has been discussion regarding The "Agents" within NIL and including Tampering. In some ways, The Agents are the problem. Here. we have an "Attorney" problem. Kessler is well respected. I understand and realize his record vs The NCAA. However, he is not gone against the NCAA on a case where his client has admitted 1) wrong doing 2) wrong doing multiple times 3) wrong doing that violates NCAA rules 4) rules that have been in place for many years 5) rules that all players, applied equally must follow 6) rules that are broken have consequences and I could go on and on on a list. Kessler has not brought forth a case anywhere similar to this. The player has admitted it. The Attorney should not fight this case - No Attorney Should. Is there any Accountability or Responsibility today? Why can't the Player say: I screwed up, I know it and now I take my punishment and learn from it. The Attorney needs to Counsel his Client with constructive and positive words and move on. We have an Attorney problem as well in my opinion. And don't give me that he is just buying time or forcing The NCAA to speed up the process; so that, the player could make a decision on The Supplemental Draft. This is a Player problem, let the Player deal with it. The NCAA owes the Player nothing. Have a Great Day! Hook'em!!!

Gerry asks a simple question. It deserves a simple answer. 

The only reason this is still an open issue is because of the player. If This Were a second string linebacker Tech would have already kicked them off the team. This literally shows that the almighty buck is more important than ethics and morals.

This is a make or break moment for him (CC). He has a chance to show he cares about college athletics as a whole. If he never comments or fights for Sorsby to play, he should not be in any position of leadership imo. 

Love it @Gerry Hamilton. This should be a simple litmus test for a self-proclaimed crusader who wants to”save the integrity of CFB.” We’ve all known that’s crap, but still, this is not hard. 

JV Joey and Capitalist Cody would publicly punt on Sorsby if they had integrity.

Sark w/ an edge lately is pretty awesome & I can’t wait for that to carry over into the season.  Gerry & CJ w/ their X post & replies yesterday were simply the added cherries.

I think Tech’s silence on the issue, so far, says volumes towards the answer to the question.

If you noticed, the POTUS just exempted himself and his family from IRS audits FOR LIFE.  We are living in a world of bad examples, where money seems to rule.  

I think it would be good for anyone anywhere at every time to stand up for integrity against cash. I agree with Gerry about this line in the sand, and with Tony Hills, that Sorsby should have all the help TT can give him for his personal problem, except that he should not be permitted to play college football.
