    The folks I talked to in Michigan about it last week felt like Moore would keep a large majority of the players but that some guys on defense might be available if the DC and assistants on that side went with Harbaugh.

    I don’t think Lacey is coming in either. But I don’t think that impacts his recruitment either. No clue on the DL coach hire at this point. I know Wright was a coach of some interest, but I do not know if he had ever been offered the job - even now. Even if Wright was the candidate and would have taken the job, I don’t see this as some botch job by Sark. Sark is perfectly capable of finding a good DL coach who can coach and recruit. It’s not like they don’t exist out there. I don’t say that to sound cavalier, just that I think people need to be patient and let the end result tell the story. And as of right now, there is no end result until someone is hired.

    Getting some conflicting information on whether or not wide receiver Ryan Williams from Saraland, Ala., will still make his scheduled visit to Texas this weekend. There is some thought that the five-star receiver is shutting down his recruitment. Whether that comes before or after his visit to Texas this weekend, I am unsure. It will be something we are monitoring over the next 24-48 hours.

    I've mentioned Hurtt as well as John Scott with the Lions or even the Lions assistant DL coach who has some Texas ties. The thing about NFL DL coaches, if their head coaches have been fired, is that they can keep them under contract until a new coach is hired. They also have buyouts, etc. I do not know who Sark is targeting at this point. I feel confident it has been an NFL guy for a couple of weeks. Beyond that, I don't know.

    I don't know that Rod Wright was ever "the" guy. It's been thought he might be but I never wrote he was definitively it. Given that nothing has happened as yet, I kind of doubt it was him as the no. 1 choice. Wright had his annual post-season meeting with Demeco Ryans yesterday, so he'd be ready to go if it was him.

    I think J. Muhammad is seen as somewhat of a luxury IMO. I don't think Texas is going to overreach whereas Oregon might.

    Dad played at Auburn but allowed his son to commit to Alabama initially. Something to be aware of but I don't think he's the typical Auburn-Alabama type.

    It would only make them ineligible to transfer to Texas this month (by Jan. 30). But it allows the players to go into the portal immediately with their current school already on the hook for this semester's scholarship.
