  1. I love following recruiting, gives me something to do during the off season and makes me more optimistic about the future of the program. Recruiting is all about potential and getting a big recruit or having a strong class makes it easy to project more future wins in my head. This year is the first year that I am largely unconcerned with recruiting. Yeah I want the number one class every year but quite frankly that’s unrealistic even for Texas. I hope to still have s strong class but to me this is a rare season where a dominate recruiting class won’t necessarily make the team significantly better. The 2025 squad is stacked with talent and I like the Longhorn’s chances of finally reaching the promised land and bringing home the title. This is a year for wins on the field not necessarily on the trail. I’ll take both but this is the year to watch potential be converted into reality. Honestly, if this is the year Tech and whoever else wants to blow there wad and risk doing illegal deals let em. Texas will be loaded for bear in 2026 after the dust has settled and will be in a great position for the transfer portal with the kids we are coming in 2nd on. @Gerry Hamilton @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel of the recruits this cycle that Texas has missed on, would any of them start in 2026 if they the commitment had gone the Horns way? I know having a pipeline is important but my focus is on Arch’s two year window at this time. Maybe I’ll feel different in 2027.
  2. Is steve Patterson available?
  3. Yeah we have to let other schools get a few recruits so we have options in the portal in future.
  4. Pridgeon stadium cyprus fairbanks football stadium in Houston
  5. Took my daughter to the Skillz & Drillz youth football camp earlier today. It was hosted by several longhorns, Xavier Worthy, Matthew Golden, Jahdea Barron. As well as NFL players Rasheed Rice, Tank Dell and Jalen Richard. She had a great time and got to meet a few of the players. Nice to see successful athletes inspiring kids.
  6. I've shown those OV pics to multiple coworkers. Most have had the good sense to be embarrassed and complain about the marketing department. However more than one has defended the use of farm animals. Allegedly recruits thought the goats were cool.
  7. Who has the best chemistry on the field with Arch?
  8. @harveycmdwho voted for the change and why? If ratings are down why do the rules persist?
  9. I read Casey Thompson for a second. Guy has to have exhausted his eligibility by now.
  10. My understanding is that "Gig'em" refers to gigging (stabbing with a pointed stick) frogs. I believe it's a reference to TCU. When they say it these days, it basically means "lets go Ags!". They say it after good plays or (more common) in email taglines.
  11. I dont think vince would be as effective in flag as the QB can not run.
  12. Of the sports pundits covering college football, i trust Klatt more than most of the others. His analysis is reason based as opposed to narrative based. Most of his takes are either correct or reasonably correct based on available information.
  13. I think there is a real chance worthy is on the team in 2028. Time line works out and his speed is a match up nightmare
  14. So he skipped to first base and people are now mad? I guess I don’t understand baseball culture.
  15. Did Oklahoma have to do anything to get out of their big 12 contract? Move games? Pay money? Kind of weird if the whole thing was just on Texas to make whole.
  16. Did anyone else see Johntay Cook is visiting Arkansas? I'm torn between wishing him the best and hoping he just wastes a bunch of the Walton's money.
  17. I think Quinn we be a multi year NFL starter. If I’m wrong I’m wrong. Does he need to improve his reads and pocket presence, yes, but he has a lot of other elite traits. There are 32 NFL teams, very few of which have a solidified starter for the next two years. The Browns, Titans, Giants, Steelers, Saints, Rams, Jets, Raiders, Seahawks, & Colts are all in need of a QB this year or next. I would slot Quinn 3rd for QBs this year. In the 2026 draft your elite guys right now are Drew Allan, LaNorris Sellers, Garrett Nussmeier & Kade Klubnik. So given the demand for Qbs I would assume someone drafts Quinn in the 2nd or 3rd and he will get the opportunity to be the man at some point over the next three years. There are multiple guys starting in the league that have more issues than Quinn in my opinion.
  18. I dont want to make any judgments but if you were trying to extort money from a player, this would be the perfect time.
  19. No joke i went to lunch with an aggie who Friday said they need to raise funds for a buyout. Today he is convinced they make a run in Omaha. I am not aware of a fanbase more captured by their own media. Everyday they have new talking points like they are handed a morning briefing
  20. Say what you want but some of the Aggies have a sense of humor
  21. Days like today, it’s actually pretty fun to work with a bunch of Aggies. The extreme confidence in the morning has switched to moping about how they will never be relavent. You hate to see it.
  22. No, they don't. Even when the basketball team is good they dont care. The only thing they care about when it comes to basketball is if they beat texas.
  23. Man the 2023 longhorn football team really did a number on the A&M athletic program without even playing on the field. Texas beat Alabama and made the playoff so they fired Jimbo and burned $75M. Now NIL has been damaged and two coaches left. Aggies are talking Beard but IDK if thats a realistic option.
  24. Yeah the hypocrisy is off the charts. Like when Kerby complained about Justice Terry and NIL. Give me a break. I think Saben got tired of having to talk about the money. Must have been a lot easier talking about football and letting the bag-men and boosters handel the money aspect. Although you might be right about not having the energy to play on a level-ish playing field.
