  1. I also hate mayo. I even have a t shirt that says so !
  2. No kickoffs in the middle of the day if you are playing in August. We can’t endanger these kids any more than we do…we have to make the game safer, not more dangerous Real penalties for paying players in cash, as these schools subject the kids to felonies for tax evasion. Files are constructed and turned over to the IRS and the Feds A statutory change to Title IX. The reality is that young men need scholarships more than women do, particularly black men. Women are more mature and outperform men in high school. We have to get our young men into college however we can. The do gooders are missing the problem. Grading of all refs by a regulatory body. Grades get published. The worst refs get downgraded, paid less, whatever. We don’t need some of these stupid ass calls affecting games. Statistically-impossible (i.e, anything beyond 2 standard deviations) outcomes need to be examined. The holding penalties against us last year is one example. Oklahoma State is an example. the SEC and the Big 10 should pay their refs more, and they should fire people who suck. Socialism breeds mediocrity.
  3. Clearly a great college player and a rock on the defense. Prob needs to have a BIll Bates type role if he makes pros. I assume he can get sronger. Smart player
  4. That makes sense to me. I have thought our snap count was dumb for a long time
  5. I would just buy the Texas exes pass. It’s been an early game for while, so the tradition is a bit eroded.
  6. That is actually pretty funny. I feel sorry for folks that take it too seriously
  7. Florida, A&M, Miami all publicly shamed for not living up to NIL expectations. Now UNLV this is why it was soooo important to do correctly from the start
  8. Well, I have been here. But it’s illegal to pay cash for that. And you turn the kids into felons instantly.
  9. These are kids susceptible to it. It’s a pity
  10. I am well aware of the stat, which is an awesome one. But, I think Bond might be the best WR we have by a real margin. I am throwing out Wingo, as he is a freshman. He still doesn’t know the playbook. He will learn it
  11. It’s why the kid profiles to UT. Upper middle class kids understand the value proposition that UT has. It is often difficult to explain it to somebody who lives in Lufkin.
  12. I cannot think of a receiver having a first three games as good as Bond. Throw in that he is a transfer, and it’s saying something. It’s hard for me to watch blocking, but I just watched his textbook block on the long Manning TD run. But I think he is fast, instinctive, can run great routes, has great hands and has a nose for the end zone. I think he is more complete than Worthy or A.D, and I love and appreciate both of them. As far as Freshman, Ringo reminds me of Lovell Pinkney and Roy Williams in terms of showing up as a man and immediately fitting in. But, in my eyes, Bond is clearly WR 1
  13. I don’t care about the coach. The issue for us is that LSU pays players not to take visits to UT. A&M did it too, although it’s not clear that they are doing that anymore, now that they were unable to fulfill their promises after the greatest recruiting haul of all time
  14. I know its illegal to jump over the front line, but actually don’t know if the rule addresses that new second line (new, as in the last decade-ish)
  15. Great summary. Wishing all of these guys the best of luck. Sometimes things just don’t work out. And, in the transfer portal era, there are going to be opportunities that look better than others. I think that our current WR are all better than these guys, but, to be fair, they were all injured a lot, so there are obviously extenuating circumstances.
  16. Interesting. Is Pete Nakos important in this regard? Never heard of him
  17. I was thinking the same thing last year and this year. The problem with mercenaries is that they bail when it suits them. Sometimes you need to believe to do things you don’t want to do, or feel like you can’t
  18. Just got 3 texts on this! hookem !
  19. Drew is a Longhorn from a Longhorn family . Great guy.
  20. Jesus that is some awful article Nebraska is so irrelevant, and I know zero graduates, so I never think about them. If this was at Michigan or ND I would have know all of this. Thanks for posting
  21. I clicked the link and don’t get it. I got into an argument with OB, and they could have easily deescalated it, but instead they threw CS at me. That was my last day there. They have this thing where they let arguments turn nuclear. It’s bizarre. I had even met them and spoke to them on the phone, and was really really good to them. They should be experts at diplomacy, and they act more like teenagers.
  22. That is genuine Greek Tragedy material. I can’t imagine bringing it up
  23. Happy Father’s day I met Gerry and one of his sons in front of dKR last year with my son !!
  24. I would point out that it is not to UT’s advantage for folks to be saying what price UT will go up to, etc. If you know it, good for you, but keep it to yourself. Let’s keep the opacity in the market to Texas’ advantage. Philosophically, UT does not want to get into pure NIL bidding wars. It buys kids who often detract from the culture. Leave those for Tech, Miami, Florida, whoever. A team can handle a few takers, but a team full of givers and transactional personalities are much easier to build a culture on. According to every source I have spoken to, NIL bidding wars tend to center around takers. Most kids want something fair and near their market value. It’s not top dollar. The truth is that we could use a couple of more million dollars of NIL. What Arkansas is doing is amazing. I wish we had the money to do that, but I am not 100% sure how sustainable that is, as I hear it’s coming from one or two guys. UT has done a nice job of making TexasOne more broad based. Right now, I am sure Tech and TCU are saying that they beat us….Let them say that. Let them have their victory.
  25. It’s incredible the number of controversies that a school like Florida gets itself into. It’s incredibly sleazy, but that is just one side of the story. I will say, if the allegations are true, I would love to see those guys personally liable. I don’t know how the law works, but he didnt sue Florida. He sued personally. This is exhibit A on doing things right
