  1. Kinda Dabo’d it up this year.
  2. Button called Texas rounding into CFB playoff shape and going on a run by year’s end. That’s not happening. We just played a bad SEC team with actual SEC bodies all per the field and were handled convincingly.
  3. Guarantee he’s not super accurate if tries to play, and I’d be terrified of him carrying the ball while getting hit on that hand if I were OU. Also, it don’t make a s***.
  4. I saw an 11-2 type of score in favor of UT late in the scrimmage. I’ve seen someone say we have 5-6 legit offensive threats at the plate this year after watching the game.
  5. He did it once in 2005 against a bad OU team, but he didn’t have a name your score game as OU did so many times against him in the early 2000s and that one utter failure with Ash as QB in 2012 I think.
  6. The idling motorcycle and Alabama checking the backseat for the Vandy Pimp was gold.
  7. I don’t care if they’re full strength or having to field an 8 man team of the lame and halt. OU will happily drop 70 on a depleted Texas squad and loose nary an ounce of sleep over it if the roles were reversed. No quarter asked and none given.
  8. Gundy is a multi millionaire with no need to do assistant things in another state unless he just really can’t stand not doing football things. He can take a few years off and try again if he really wants to be a HC into his 60’s. As for his firing…deserves has got nothing to do with it. OSU is acting like a big program even if they are not. They’re trying to get a jump on potential hires while keeping their base and donors engaged. Those $$$ mean much more than class these days I’m afraid. Especially at a cash strapped program.
  9. He wasn’t, pardon the pun, stellar at STAR either.
  10. I doubt Gundy would have any interest in analyst work. He doesn’t need money and he probably doesn’t want to travel to Austin from his home unless he moves completely. He can go take a mullet medical year or three and throw his name back into the ring at a good situation if he really wants to do football into his 60’s.
  11. When he flashes he really flashes. Unfortunately his fizzles are pretty spectacular too. Nobody gets to skip the QB learning curve. Not even a Manning.
  12. He probably would have hit a few more passes today and may have seen the open intermediate crosser Arch keeps missing on some of his deep shots. He also would have been sacked about 5 times by SJSU.
  13. Reported by another site.
  14. It wasn’t alcohol. Apparently OTF members aren’t the only ones who like Rogue Shop.
  15. Yup. We didn’t watch Arch throw into triple coverage all day. He threw into coverage a few times. Fine. It happens. It wasn’t about him missing some wide open reads. That happens too. It was watching him badly miss open WRs with his passes when he made good reads. That’s a different level of fail, and needs to get much better quickly, because that’s a base level of execution that’s non negotiable.
  16. The greatest CFB coach of all time by a mile struggled in the NFL.
  17. The fact that you can’t sense the complete irony of that post is peak you.
  18. DeBoer was dumb enough to follow the undisputed GOAT, and, minus a great season, will probably be on the hot seat at the end of the year. Alabama fans have forgotten what it is to have a mortal football program like the rest of us. We sucked yesterday. It’s ok to say that. It’s not a crazy take. We score 7 points, and lost a game where Ohio State barely bothered to try to play offense. People suggesting that Sark might need to surrender the reins as a play caller are also not over the top. Particularly given that the guy who just beat him twice consecutively did just that. It’s been an ongoing topic of conversation for some time now. No, I haven’t joined that chorus yet. Overreacting would be calling for the firing of the entire staff or quitting on the season. People are people, all of these reactions are expected, and could be largely preprinted for them if anyone bothers to pay attention to message board behavior. We looked like microwaved dog turds on national tv ranked number one against a huge opponent after a preseason of hearing how good we are going to be. The reactions are expected. Don’t talk down to people for them just because they don’t fan like you do.
  19. It is what it is anywhere sports matter to people who can post about it. Good take. Hookem.
  20. And about your standard reply as well. Yes, it’s sanctimonious. A claiming of some fictional internet high ground because fanatics react emotionally to the thing they love.
  21. Standard post loss topics. A bunch of “Oh Noes. We suck!” Usually a suggestion or three that “We fire or reassign a coach.” Someone will bop in with a “…but how will this affect recruiting ?” thread. And, of course, you get sanctimonious threads like this one where someone claims moral high ground for “not overreacting.” It is what it is, and you can copy and paste most of the posts minus a few game specifics on any sports message board in America.
  22. Arch is a capable scrambler, and not a power rusher. He doesn’t have a feel for designed QB runs and looks timid in the hole. Something for our coaches to remember moving forward. Thats young QB stuff, and probably not a little bit of Sark joysticking his QB with helmet communications. Probably a little bit of what Sark meant when he said he needs to let Arch go play more.
  23. I’d tap the brakes on the defense. OSU barely attempted to play offense yesterday and were content to not beat themselves while our offense generally fornicated with the football. We have the pieces to be special on defense, but I’ll wait to anoint them as great until I see them contend with an offense actually interested in being offensive with similar talent.
  24. Football is hard when a team of equal talent refuses to use the playground you’ve built for them. It took us about 2.5 quarters to figure that out, and adjust. Maybe with an extra quarter to work with we could have done something. I suspect several other teams will accept that we don’t have the developed running backs to make them pay for shrugging their shoulders at our rushing attack. In some defense of Sark he had to go in blind against the Patricia defense, but you have to see pretty early on that they weren’t going to let Sayin beat them and take the FGs. The general inaccuracy displayed yesterday was a revelation.
  25. That Heritage OL was basically a turnstile. Felt bad for the St. Jo punter who rushed his kick after a bad snap resulting in the own block and winning field position for Bell’s team.
