  1. They’re also about the safest passes he can call. Football coaches are manic with their trust issues, and it’s clear that Sark doesn’t particularly trust QE to settle and read the scrum in the compressed field. We’re always running some sprint out pass or whip route when we ask Quinn to throw close to the goal line. Or maybe one of the basic goalie PA passes to the TE. We’re certainly not calling mesh and hoping he ticks his way through 5 options.
  2. I think we undervalued just how incredible our gunners were last year.
  3. I think we all considered the possibility of Burt’s kicking costing us a game this year. Not that the rest of the team just covered itself in glory all night. I do wonder if Will Stone just falls down in practice every time he attempts a FG. Perhaps we should open up competition for the next two weeks. Burt’s not the only reason we lost tonight, but his impact relative to his snaps is impossible to ignore.
  4. UT DL recruiting at the moment. Does GH have a “Bye” emoji?
  5. Love how Elko was asked why they thought they could run it up the middle on us on the last 4th down stop and he had absolutely nothing other than “ I’m sure we thought it was a good idea somehow.”
  6. Bet he has some Jimmy Chus too.
  7. Speaking of classy, take a gander at this sad attempt at manly aggot trash talk….. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1DAKtdnwVS/?mibextid=UalRPS
  8. You can probably suggest VY to any Texas QB excellence question and not be wrong.
  9. We’ve learned to win a different way. It’s not the way any of us foresaw to begin the year. I think we all thought the offense would be slinging it around while letting the defense tee off on opponents playing catch up from well down. A cadre of backs would give us enough in the run game for it to be respectable. I won’t mention special teams. Turns out our defense is historically dominant. We’re going to have a 1000 yard back if he remains healthy, and we lean on those two things while doing enough in the passing game to keep opponents relatively honest against the run. I won’t mention special teams. Winning how you have to win now earns you the right to win how you want to win later. I used to say that in reference to bullheaded coaches running “their stuff” regardless of personnel and failing instead of winning however they had to so they could recruit and win how they wanted to. Sark made a correction mid season with Quinn’s injuries. We got big, we leaned on the run, we play actioned off of it and we pointed our defense towards our opponents and encouraged them to “tackle that sumb**ch and break his legs off. It’s working. I won’t mention special teams. Quinn played his a** off and showed surprising mobility given his bad wheel. Football is a bit of a different animal because it’s such a physical sport, but “beware the injured athlete” has been a maxim forever. The great ones tend to play within themselves and excel when they otherwise shouldn’t. Outside of two plays that was QE tonight. Speaking of those plays…..I thought the ball was dead as soon as you started a slide as a QB which is why the ball is spotted where you start the slide, and not where your posterior hits the ground. Tre Wisner is a dude. Whitt’s heir apparent, deceptively sturdy, patiently picks his way through traffic and probably has BAMF as his DNA coding. Warrior. Goosby stepped in and dominated. We’re going to be fine on OL next year in case anyone was wondering. Reminded me of Tony Hills looking svelte as a LT for us. Helm caught everything and leaped some fool on his way to the NFL. Bond’s not right, and that’s pretty clear. That could be an issue next week if UGA doesn’t respect us at all deep. Btw, anyone notice QE hit a deep shot off the switch release out and up? It’s his best deep throw. Vernon Broughton brought it alright. I haven’t seen anyone mention it so I will. The 4th down stop that Burke chased down? Broughton nearly took the snap at the mesh point. Alfred Collins collapsed the left side of the Aggie DL on another of the stops thought Norton gets credit there. Taafe daddy did Taafe daddy things. He caused a fumble tonight in addition to his other heroics. Defense completely balled out. That should have been a 31-0 victory. The most dominant 17-7 win I’ve ever seen. Reminiscent of the 16-6 win in 1995. Thank goodness the SEC replay folks were on the ball. The field crew didn’t have their best day. The piped in sound is bush league BS. I think we only had one procedural penalty all game, by Goosby no less, and otherwise ignored their histrionics until our play shut them up the old fashioned way. I didn’t miss those insufferable goobers. Thought the Wild Arch was a great addition. Hope we add to it for future opponents. 11-1 is very sweet. I’ll be curious to see how we handle UGA. it’s tough to beat the same team twice in a year. Quinn’s wheel might be marginally better. Need Banks to get right. I think Bond is a one trick pony deep at this point unless he really heals in a bye. I didn’t see too many other injuries so we should be relatively healthy for Atlanta outside of those issues. I suspect Carson Beck will spend about two quarters trying to single-handedly give us the game, and about two quarters looking like he’s NFL bound. Hopefully the GaTech film shows us some things other than Haynes King’s one man battering ram routine. That concludes Sheep Week.
  10. CB4 is a great, great Longhorn.
  11. Hullabaloo Dinesh, Dinesh. Horse laughs, empty MNC plaques. Squeezing crotches as a dead dog watches. Scoreboards for deceased K-9s. Manziel probably paying more fines. Mascot dogs dismissing classes. Burning logs, cadets sabering lasses. Dave South with homer calls. Kyle field has seats facing walls. Hex rally, and f scally. Aggy scores, sucking face. Trying not to remember Case. Cheerleader dudes leading chants. Why are they in milkman pants? Band marching in zig zag lines. Fear not. They won halftime. Why are there so many empty seats? Strange for a team that’s never been beat. Corey Pullig, Leeland McElroy. Don’t hold a candle to the younger McCoy. Jackie Sherrill, RC Slocum. Golden Trans Am promises broken. Aggies don’t lie, cheat or steal. SEC recruiters aren’t buying that spiel. Collie Station, Soviet architecture. Perfect for animal husbandry lectures. Remember “Baaaaaa” still means no. In 5 years Mark Stoops looks like Elko. We took Coach Schlossnagle. Insult Ant Hill some more when able. It’s Sheep Week playing insufferable goobers. Lots of fodder for OTF YouTubers. If you’re tired of my half a**ed rhymes…. Remember, ATM never loses. They run out of time.
  12. Not many people want to invite their ex’s over to hang with the new fam even if it’s been a decade and most of the hard feelings have been ameliorated,.
  13. Maybe if it were basketball.
  14. First multi interception game for him in two years so no. Veer and Shoot is nothing special if there no threat of the run.
  15. Ole Hit & Miss does it again. never underestimate Kiffin’s ability to drop clown losses.
  16. Adrenalin is a helluva drug.
  17. I mean, it wasn’t the UGA head coach throwing arm bars at opposing players on the sideline stupid Kirby, but it wasn’t a good look.
  18. I’m not going to tell you how to fan, but people staying to the end of a blowout win against a team that will struggle to make a bowl is probably not something you should build up heartburn over. It doesn’t happen anywhere.
  19. People are people. I can pull up articles where Lord Saban was bemoaning the late arrivals and early departures of Tide fans amidst the greatest run in college football history. No need to dig out your personal scourging device and start the flagellation.
  20. Does anyone have video of this? ABC was too busy showing Jaxson Dart’s mug for the Ole Miss/UGA preview to catch the play in live action, and couldn’t be bothered to explain how Texas advanced the ball 40 yards after the 4th and 2 conversion at midfield.
  21. I think they may drum FSU this year, and they have shown signs of being competitive. Especially if Lagway develops into a real starter for next year.
  22. I was actually just thinking that this might be the game where we play more Agbo or even Chatman as the second TE. Love what Davis is doing as TE 2, but he’s been negligible as a receiving threat and we could really use OL6 to give Quinn time to pick on their very pedestrian back 7.
  23. We need to plan to knock Turner’s **** in the dirt early and often. He plays mean and feeds on momentum. Borderline out of control. Our best defense is making them play from behind and letting our ends do work while they play catch up. They’re likely to beat us if we play them in a phone booth and they can lean on their rushing attack and QB’s legs to move the ball.
  24. Check downs are fine. A staple of good offensive football. It’s the telegraphed, late check down to the flat that’s getting old. Opponents are driving on them, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see one taken the other way in the near future if Quinn doesn’t back defenses off in coverage with completions down the field. The quick game, screens, check downs and bombs can make for a pretty darn solid college offense. Or, if not bombs, legitimate targets 15-20 yards down the field. Take away that and defenses are largely playing within 10 yards of the LOS with impunity because our QB can’t connect deep or won’t stay in the pocket long enough to attempt a throw.
