  1. You are right about that. I think they have tried to get him out of that dead pull problem. Also, a lot of his Ks come from having to take early pitches and getting behind a lot. And with his not so great eye for the ball and bat control he is a sucker for those low and outside sliders and curve balls. Those 81 Ks are nothing to sneeze at. Of course they aren't in the Trey Faltine range but they need to be cut down. He is a very good infielder and with a bit more plate work and discipline he can be a much better hitter.
  2. Mayo on a corn dog will do it ever time.
  3. Like Blake said, they do not have to declare. Many make the decision to go pro or not after the draft. The really good ones who are predicted to high, may indicate in advance they are going but still have to wait and see how high they go in the draft. College players and high schoolers who want to go but are not sure where they will be drafted just sit back and wait for the draft and then make a decision based on how high they are drafted and how much money they will get. Some high schoolers who will probably be drafted sometimes tell pro scouts that they intend to go to college even if drafted and that can effect where they are drafted, probably slipping a bit in the draft. With some NIL money available for college ball there is more of an enticement to play in college for some of the people. Of course, there are some really good players who still choose to go to college even if they are drafted relatively high because they and their families want the college experience, an education, and development.
  4. That would be nice, but they need a bit more power throughout the lineup for those occasions where the big guns don't do so well (see the 2026 World Series)
  5. Is that the same Vanguard that is an investment company? 🤣 I have heard of the company.
  6. We went last time. We got the full pass and watched just about every game.
  7. Monsour in the portal today.
  8. That was probably the visiting teams sideline. They must not travel well. The cameras are usually up in the pressbox area on the home teams side.
  9. Yeah, both of those incoming freshman catchers look pretty good.
  10. Sorry to see Courville go, but the 2 incoming freshman might work out. It wouldn't hurt to take another backup in the portal.
  11. The woman sponsor of the bill seemed to insinuate that the SEC and the Big10 didn't really provide input like others did and both have shot back I think. In some ways it would be good to have some legislation, but I don't think they should be legislating conference realignment, how many teams can be in a conference, etc.
  12. They want everything to be even and to share revenue. No way. The next thing you know big schools with a large fan base and a big brand will have to share the profits of all ticket sales, merchandise sales, and concession sales with schools that barely have athletic programs.
  13. we lived in oregon and had a house in Redmond for a while. that part of the state tends to be more Oregon State oriented than Oregon. The other side of the mountains seemed to be a bit more U. Oregon fans. Redmond and Bend are nice areas and Central Oregon was my favorite part of the state.
  14. I also am not sure that all batters should be waiting 2 or 3 pitches before taking a swing hoping to find their pitch. We get too many 0 and 2 counts and batters with not much bat control invariably chase bad pitches at that point. Some batters are good first pitch hitters and scouting reports tell you how good an opposing pitcher is at throwing first pitch strikes and what kind of pitch he relies.
  15. The 2 is wrong. Did that include all three games? I know of at least 5, which is also pretty bad.
  16. Yeah, it was better in some respects this year and Schloss stated several times early on that it still needs to build up more to get where he wants to be.
  17. Well, at least they won one game. The last couple of times we have come it has been 2 and barbecue. Pitching may be a bit better next year and let's hope the roster is a better hitting roster next year with a bit more overall power and more guys who can hit 300 and not below 250.
  18. No breaks tonight and cold bats against pretty good pitching. Our pitching has been pretty good too.
  19. Hope they are still wearing their hitting shoes tonight and that the bottom of the lineup wakes up. We need a solid performance from Luke too. Will be there again tonight, but may leave tomorrow no matter what. Hook'em. Go Horns. 🤘
  20. What happened to all of the rhetoric by Tech about merely trying to help the poor young man? When they feel the heat they let him go? What a crock. It was never about helping Sorsby. It was all about helping Tech.
  21. It was incredible to see in person. He was definitely on fire. Mendoza and Pack were good too. Can’t wait to see Pack in years 2 and 3.
  22. Well, the only court ruling as of now says it is okay to do it. I hope the federal judge does not toss this until he actually is drafted or signs as a free agent. We still need some higher source to get a new law or have the ruling of the Texas judge overturned.
