  1. Me too. It stings because it’s a quality player that could have helped at two spots. Just hoping for the best at this point.
  2. I apologize for the foolish remark below. It’s warranted criticism and I am fine with it. When I made that statement I was under the impression Texas wanted to be elite. I now feel they want to be competitive with the chance of being elite. I don’t feel foolish though. I have a better understanding of what Texas actually wants to be in basketball.
  3. Good enough for me then.
  4. Was never expecting Toppin to up his price to beyond all sensible reality. The kid I was referring to went to TCU. I acknowledged I was wrong on that. I had him taking up a significant portion of money. Tech actually has money for one more. This kid wanted more than Tre. Tre will be drafted higher so that ended it. Texas was expecting the 700,000.00 range. I should have expected this was a possibility when the other kid broke the bank in UTAH. That being said I was wrong. As for foolishness maybe look at yourself on that one.
  5. Even if he is ready it’s high school to college basketball. It could take a year for him to get to that level. Or he could be PJ Tucker. He just came in ready.
  6. @Gerry Hamilton I will chop off a foot for great news. Not IT Horton news. I guess we don’t look international.
  7. He picked money over Texas.
  8. First thing I thought of when I saw he had passed. I didn’t know he was sick.
  9. Getting Luka to play defense has been good to see. He is becoming a complete player. His offensive production has always been there.
  10. I am amazed Kyrie has been normal. He’s one of the best to ever do it, but he has been so erratic I didn’t think any team could count on him. He and Luka work perfect together. Each lets the other takeover when they need too. They compliment each other perfectly.
  11. I think they did their job, but the charges and what’s on the video do not match. The officer telling the media to back up does not have an ego. He told the reporter to back up, he came forward again to say something. Officer told him again to back up. He told him the person was going to jail. And then started talking to the reporter.
  12. You think that just happened today? Been like that way for a long time. Sometimes it ends in death.
  13. Agree. Money won’t be a problem.
  14. Bierce is gold. All I do is chop off parts of my body.
  15. I can’t remember one that is worse. Travis Mays draft? Never nervous was the top pick.
  16. Not Gerry but if it’s money, Texas will not lose. Tech has missed on a lot of players. The kid they just got probably cost them a lot.
  17. He looked great both times out. Perimeter game is developing nicely. Hype has caused many a team to draft a player. UCLA kid is the only other plan. Hawkins is most likely staying in the draft. They would have to pay someone coming back a lot. I can’t think of any names that would be interested. However, I don’t know what the coaching staff knows.
  18. My concern is Toppin staying in the draft. He’s getting better by the minute.
  19. Actual legit measurement was 6’7’.
  20. That kid from UCLA isn’t ready. Is he planning to play two to five minutes a game?
  21. Hawkins and Toppin were the only two singled out both days. The NIL would be more than a second round contract. He’s 6’7 so he’s a small forward in the NBA. If he is just not wanting to go to college anymore or has the wrong people around him then he is gone.
  22. Playoffs really takes the undefeated team out of the question of elite. Which is a great thing. It is my belief that this year ten wins and some wins in the playoffs is elite even if Ewers is hurt. If Ewers and Manning go down then 9-3 and a bowl game would be great for me. Wins and losses to quality teams can be seriously affected by injury. I consider Texas elite at several positions. You can take one guy out and put another in and see virtually no drop off. Talented depth makes you elite in my opinion. Does Texas have elite depth at defensive tackle or in the secondary? I don’t think they do. So in those areas an injury could affect Texas from being elite. Barring injury at those positions I expect Texas to be able to play for a national championship. As long as recruiting and developing of players don’t fall off, Texas should be in the national championship conversation every year.
  23. That is happening after he attends a class in the fall semester. I told Gerry I would chop off the other one if we got Pope and Garrison. I saved a hand.
  24. Got told the same thing at 50. Fortunately I have only been in the hospital for gall bladder surgery.
