  1. This makes me think of that barstool sports video where the guys are explaining to Kayce Smith where Texas and ATM fall in the hierarchy of sports. I can't seem to find the tweet though. If any more savvy social media folks want to find it.
  2. To be fair, he's talking to his fan base, pretty much any coach in the country is pumping his team up and hyping up their fan base. Will they actually become good? That's still to be seen, that's why you play the games.
  3. Which is harder - pulling an OK kid or a LA kid? Both OU and LSU pretty much own their respective states in terms of fanbase. I guess with OK at least OU has to compete with OSU. LSU has no competition at all for loyalty in LA.
  4. Two things can be true at the same time. Example: Art Briles is an absolutely terrible human being. He's also an offensive genius when it comes to football.
  5. IMO Texas got Sark at exactly the right time in his life and career. He had things that affected him when he was a younger coach, got the opportunity to turn it around with Saban and has instilled what he's learned into the culture that he's built. He's learned from both Pete Carroll and Nick Saban, two coaches who built dynasties where they coached. Now he's working on building his own with everything that he's learned. OP left out, Sark could have left to become the head coach at Bama when Saban retired, iirc they reached out to him and he said I'm staying at Texas.
  6. While I agree with the sentiments, unfortunately I will probably take this path as the only thing I watch is sports and this is more economical than paying $80> a month for YouTubeTV or any of the other streaming services.
  7. I haven't followed softball that much this season, but am curious. I think I saw that the A&M coach is in her first or second year, would be interested in how she's been able to turn that program into such a program, albeit it's a small sample size and they have not gone through the post season yet, but they did just smoke Texas 14-2.
  8. Seems every pitcher gets worse each year except Kavan. Simpson pretty much doing even pitch at all. Where’s the freshman phenom?
  9. A&M about to run rule Texas in 2 innings unless the bats come alive in a big way.
  10. By everyone, not just the elite teams.
  11. Texas baseball and softball seem like they peeked a little too early and are fading a bit right when it’s about to be post season play is not great timing.
  12. He has so much potential and is such a good guy. Damn injury bug.
  13. For me growing up, it was nice to have football games on Friday after Thanksgiving (and on Thanksgiving) when mom and the women folk went shopping, the men and boys could stay home and just watch football all day long. Of course these were the days of actually going to the mall/stores to shop. Yes I'm old.
  14. I’m not a fan of Pop, he also was of the group that ushered in the rest players on back to back days mentality. I grew up in the Isaiah Thomas played with a messed up ankle era. And I’m no Thomas fan. Same with the all star game, it was competitive to see the best compete. Now it’s a glorified practice. Millions of dollars to play a game and they can’t show up for every game barring a major injury. It’s 82 games. Their fans, some of whom, bust their tales for crazy hours and work through injury and pain so they can take their kid(s) to watch their “heroes” who are too good to make the same effort. Ok I’m done ranting.
  15. It’s one of those thankless jobs, do it right and no one says anything…do it wrong and you never hear the end of it.
  16. At least it want blowu
  17. I agree, and I'll also add that he's well aware of the media circus and the pro-life. He seems to really want to experience all he can of college life before having to "be an adult".
  18. Do these count towards the director's cup? Asking for a friend.
  19. They won't admit it, but so long as NIL is in play, they'll never come close to Texas. There's only a few schools that can come close to how powerful Texas is with NIL and ou ain't one of them.
  20. Hopefully Sark gets that message passed to Vic.
  21. Sounds like ou is going all in for next season, if they land her as well, their outside shooting is literally the opposite of Texas'. Very similar the offensive style of football they had in Norman under Riley - we're going to outscore you mentality.
  22. The draft is now over, just like it doesn't matter what your recruiting ranking was when you enter college, it doesn't matter where you got drafted once the NFL starts. There will be 1st round busts and late round steals. If Brock Purdy can become a starting QB as the last pick in the draft, and Tom Brady can become the GOAT being taken in the 6th round, Quinn has the opportunity to be a pro and become great. He's in a good situation not having to immediately start (Brady sat behind Bledsoe to start). I was critical of Quinn's play at Texas, doesn't mean I'm not a fan. Good luck to him and thanks for the great times at Texas. Could he have been better? Sure, but after the dark times after Colt, I'm grateful for Quinn helping bring Texas back into national prominence.
  23. The last guy's not wrong, no other fan base wants to run away from their "rival" like aggy does.
  24. Seems like Cleveland’s room is too big, along with the incumbents. Wonder which ones will be cut after preseason.
  25. Dez isn’t wrong, Miami has tons of weapons with speed. One thing Quinn does excel at is getting the ball in the hands of playmakers and let them get yac.
