  1. The funny thing is that he wants to make Tech relevant so bad but what he's done has probably set them back worse than when he became rich.
  2. According to a redditor, allegedly she was headed to ATM but the NIL was less than what she had agreed prior to entering the portal so she backed off them.
  3. I'm still thinking that Coach White probably wants to let some of the talented sophomores and freshmen battle for the available open spots in LF and RF. There were some highly touted recruits that were backups last year as they were adjusting to the college game.
  4. She had a Nike deal at FSU, so likely she'd get the same or an even better deal with Nike at Texas.
  5. On a separate note, I've seen some posts on social media about how some of the Tech players (from last year) seemed to go out of their way to claim that they were "so much happier at Tech". As one person put it, it really feels forced because psychology teaches you that if you're truly happy that you've moved on, you're not thinking about the past and your former team much less go out of your way to point out how happy you are. People will just notice how happy you are if it's true.
  6. If not the top, I would think Texas would be that 2nd tier at the very least. Texas is in the top 5 in terms of dollars invested in softball with OU leading the pack; hard to imagine they wouldn't put the NIL money behind it to make those investments worth it. Additionally, it helps that Texas is a Nike school and has prominent involvement in nationwide programs. Kavan and Atwood being part of that Nike campaign did not hurt any image and rumors were that the packages for each student athlete was worth at least $1m in value. The endorsement deals you can get at a Texas a significantly more than say a Tech where your market is Lubbock and the majority of players are oil companies. In Austin, being a major city, the capital of Texas, no professional sports teams, and a vast plethora of industries, I would imagine the NIL opportunities are a lot more.
  7. If only it were that easy; there's an extremely high likelihood that Tech is throwing crazy money a la million dollar Canady at her considering SS was the only position they weren't able to buy last year (though they did try chasing Torres last year from reports). If it's significantly more than what Texas offers, it's a hard decision to make. I hate Lubbock and Tech, but life changing money would be hard to pass up. I know that NIL at Texas is good, but could it come close or surpass it? That's what Torres needs to figure out.
  8. There's some talented sophomores and freshman who will likely get a chance.
  9. Double post
  10. If Torres is interested, you don't turn down Torres, she's that good. Last year batted over .500 when she was pitched to, on base percentage of over .600, and on defense I think had 2 errors all of last year at SS. She's elite. If your top of the lineup is: 1. Kayden Henry 2. Isa Torres 3. Vivi Martinez 4. Katie Stewart Then you also have Swan, Nichols, Wells, the other 2 bats TBD. That's fear for a pitcher - combo of speed and power.
  11. Goode also relay threw Atwood out at the plate.
  12. What NFL team is going to take him? It's not like he's got NFL talent and this much baggage?
  13. I have no insider sources, just try to check social media and message boards to see if there's any news.
  14. Have the Zache sisters from ou landed anywhere? Recall that one of them is supposed to be a good pitcher.
  15. This is where I'm at and cannot understand it myself, they literally are throwing away the future for a long time for a guy that's been mid.
  16. Only player left I really want is Torres, a LHP would be nice, but Torres is the big get.
  17. Texas will offer NIL but will probably not break the balance of the team. IE they aren’t going to offer any more than what Kavan, Stewart, etc get. They have to also keep the current players content. That’s the balance and Texas seems to have done a good job there, thus only a couple of portals, likely for playing time.
  18. Yep, the team is a good team as it sits now, anyone they get to join is icing on the cake.
  19. Well there goes that, hoping for Torres.
  20. Bobby isn't natty or bust, but with that much top talent, it really should be natty or bust.
  21. If Torres wants to play SS, Tech will give it to her no questions asked. Texas it will be decided because either Torres or Martinez will need to change positions to probably 2nd base. We know Tech will try to money whip them as well, they aren’t shy about offering twice as much if not more than the next team just to guarantee if it’s a money thing that they’ll be the top.
  22. Right? I work in corporate and am in Human Resources. When someone has a problem, we tell them to take time off and focus on yourself and getting better. The work will be there when you get back. Not - we support you but go back to work because we need you.
  23. Does Sorsby have incriminating pictures of all of Tech leadership or something? Holy cow they're willing to sink the ship for that scrub.
  24. If she's not the clear #1, I feel like that would help Texas' chances against Florida. Burnt orange glasses aside, I don't see what Florida could offer that would be better other than being close to the ocean. But Gainesville is a swamp.
  25. I would think that UT's wouldn't be too far away if it was less. Also, the true NIL outside of what Texas pays has much more potential at UT though Florida could come close. I saw someone say that Kavan's Nike deal was worth $1.1m. A&M is an addidas school so they don't have that. Not sure on Florida.
