  1. Last year Texas was down to pretty much 2 RBs and a QB that didn't have the skillset to run. This year, Texas has it's full stable of backs along with a QB that will take off and is pretty fast at that. Go ahead and play a 3 front and get gashed. If the O-line can't create holes against a 3 man front, Texas is in worse shape than what we've been sold.
  2. You can throw in aggie softball from this past athletic season too, after all, they run ruled Texas in the SEC conference tournament. Did they print cups?
  3. Have to create the perception that it's a "punishment". If they go celebrating like "haha we got away with it" then . . . well doesn't really affect anything really.
  4. I would seriously consider buying an Osterflex jersey if it was a real thing.
  5. Which would mean pretty much everyone involved would be gone, they get their natty with basically little to no consequences. The school is paying the financial penalties, not them.
  6. And they'll be games against inferior opponents where the team could basically coach themselves without needing any coaches on the sideline and still would win handily 99% of the time.
  7. Agreed, basically says cheat your way to a championship, we won't take it away. The revenue the school makes on the championship run will more than make up for any penalty. Essentially there's not much of an ROI hit.
  8. It is, that's what drew me to the idea, Old Metallica is better than their new stuff also.
  9. I'm a bit old school as this will show my age, but something like this with the team strolling in a la Remember the Titans (but not dancing like that) would be badass imo. Just gives a vibe of confidence. https://youtu.be/lYn0QdBmtfM?si=r1cQdMPKC87GBYT5
  10. Not just Caleb Williams, Texas has problems with new QBs, Stockton at Georgia brought them back when they couldn't move the ball at all.
  11. I think based on what's been said, he stays at least 2 years regardless. If he wins both Heisman and natty? He could stay and try to repeat both, a feat I don't think has ever been done?
  12. This is not apples to apples - when the men's game started, there weren't lucrative TV contracts, social media, widely available viewing in your pocket, etc. Throw in that it wasn't a global game at the time and the concept of athletics as a career was not a thing like it is today. I don't think they are losing money in that it's a negative for them, I think the league isn't making money and they are in the red, but it's probably a write-off or something worked in, they are just using the words not making money (which can be true) but the owners themselves aren't losing millions.
  13. I want to see a beatdown like Bama vs Fl St. to start the season a few years ago with Texas playing the role of Bama.
  14. This is a really tough loss, he's the coach that gave Reese Atwood said signaled to her to swing while being intentionally walked in the national championship game 1. The team's hitting greatly improved when he came on board.
  15. At some point you'd think they would eventually come off the cliff and learn that the world is not out to get them, in fact the world doesn't even really care. They should listen to the great Kansas band's lyrics . . . "all we are is dust in the wind"
  16. Disagree on that take, you get him reps where you can, he's already lost last year. He'll have the added benefit of being completely fresh and it will allow the other guys to rest to get ready for the post season (assuming Texas is going far). There's plenty of games to go around and getting him prepared to contribute in the playoffs would be huge as well.
  17. I thought about this today as well, still have not received anything. I'm about to contact my credit card for review. They are on the Texas One Fund page so I imagine there's some sort of partnership there, but to date I've been really disappointed. Complete lack of communication.
  18. Just like softball this season, they can have the regular season, I'll take the championship.
  19. Started watching WWF back when it was Hulkamania, Junkyard Dog, Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, Iron Sheik . . . have lost a lot of legends.
  20. Good point, but with potentially issues of sanctions, USC might be able to get away w/o a buyout. All depends on what all happened and contract details of course.
  21. My money would be on Riley at USC. Their boosters don't have much patience and they seem to be giving him money to get a good recruiting class.
  22. When Crazy Train is on and next thing you know, you look at the speedometer and you're waaaayyyy past the speed limit.
  23. IIRC they are one of the 3 guaranteed rivalry games every year along with OU and ATM.
  24. Timing really doesn't matter though, Texas could have been last and still would have garnered a majority of the attention and the scrum around Arch would probably still be the largest for the week. The Aggies could have been sandwiched between Georgia and Alabama and that would have been everyone took their lunchbreak. Except for Billy of course, he'd be there covering his beloved Aggies. They're lucky they weren't put right before or after Texas because then it would be really obvious in the contrast of coverage, which they would blame on Texas or some other conspiracy.
  25. I assume you're in Austin. The job market is fairly tough right now because so many companies/places have laid off recently, especially in the tech field. What you do have at your disposal, is the ability to use AI. You can start the prompt by stating: I'm in [location] and I have an [degree] degree with [x] year of experience. I'm looking for [fill in]. Upload your resume and ask it to provide a list of available job postings you can apply to. You can further utilize it to come up with interview questions, tips, etc. Clean up your resume, write a cover letter, etc. It's crazy how AI has made that process so much easier.
