  1. How do Stanford's baseball and basketball teams look? With the number of small sports they have, if any of their major require teams make points, it's a massive advantage for them. Texas' director cup wins have partially been because Stanford's big required sports teams for the most part have been atrocious.
  2. I feel the same pains, granted I'm older than the target audience though I'm not retired yet. I stopped watching NFL when they were more worried about not playing football, I stopped the NBA when officiating decided the "stars" could literally break rules and not be penalized (double dribble, travel, palming, etc.) in addition to flopping worse than soccer players. MLB for some reason isn't as entertaining to me anymore. When I was a kid, I could name every single player on any of the major Houston teams (Oilers, Rockets, Astros). I listened on the radio when the TV was blacked out (Bill Worrell & Milo Hamilton). I still love Longhorn sports, but like many have said, the transfer and NIL have made it hard to have favorite players because they might be gone the next year. In the NIL fanbox, I got the autographed Wisner poster and Deandre Moore poster; I had ordered frames which and framed them, but those aren't going up on the wall now because it's a Longhorn wall. Change is inevitable, just what will make it on the wall will be more scarce now since there will be fewer players that stay at the school. For that reason, I believe if Arch is able to lead the team to a natty this year (even with all the transfers in), he'll be as beloved as Vince if not more by the burnt orange faithful. Thanks for reading my rambling on a Monday morning.
  3. Vic says he believes Harmon is the best pg in the country, she was outplayed by SC’s guard, let’s see if she can outplay Chavez.
  4. I’m in agreement with your thought. She gets to be the face of the program there, at Texas, she would split being the face, though everyone is still able to get their fair share of the spotlight provided they perform. Jordan Lee is getting recognition as is Crump.
  5. I don’t know how realistic it is, but Burrow wants out of Cincy, Stroud can go back to Ohio! Separately, my friend is drunk on koolaid and thinks the Texans will keep stroud and be able to tank for Arch.
  6. That was brilliant marketing.
  7. Foot injury that bad? That would be a big blow to the depth, she's a star in the making.
  8. Also conveniently forgetting that Cam getting "shut down" was mainly due to his QB not being able to hit the broad side of a barn, kind of like the QBs they currently have on their roster returning for next year. Maybe Cam wanted to go somewhere he didn't have to go through that again.
  9. I do hope ou offered him a lot more than Texas did, they don’t have pockets as deep as tech much less Texas. Money spent on livingstone is less money elsewhere.
  10. This is just stupid and bad business on behalf of the big 12 and schools that opt in imo. They should only do this if they stand a chance at going deep in the playoffs and winning. No school in the big 12 stands a chance of building a roster complete enough to truly compete even with borrowed money. They simply won’t be able to win enough NIL battles to field a complete and competitive roster. They may be able to field one to win the big 12 and that’s about it.
  11. I saw an article: https://brobible.com/sports/article/philip-rivers-play-style-exposing-modern-qbs/ that talks about how Phillip Rivers (and what Tom Brady talks about a lot) in terms of QBs reading the defense instead of just relying on their raw talent. This is what I believe Arch is learning to do under Sark, and this takes a lot of experience and time. Arch also has the physical gifts and abilities as well which is why I believe many people predict him to be great and some even projected #1 pick. He has the ability to blend both the old school style (from his uncle's day) and the new style of play. Hoping it comes to fruition fully next year and results in a natty.
  12. Any potential news on the tennis teams and golf teams?
  13. Really of the teams left, the only one I can see myself being content with winning is Indiana if just so that it's a new team that won't make it more difficult for Texas to recruit against.
  14. I believe the committee doesn't give 2 sh1ts about being right or wrong and outside of the Texas fanbase, no one else cares that Texas was omitted. So I want bama and miami to take them to the woodshed.
  15. Don't know the reasoning, but my guess would be that it was not amicably. There were rumors there was some beef with the coach. The reason I say that it was not amicably, is because I remember something to the effect in one of her posts about transferring to Texas, she threw shade saying "transferring to a program where they know how to win championships" - which was right after the season Texas annihilated Nebraska in the championship match. The animosity between Texas and Nebraska in volleyball is about how it is between Texas and ou in football imo. One of the rumors on the volleyball forum on former player Kayla Caffey (who also transferred from Nebraska) is that allegedly Cook accused her of being selfish and not a team player, so when she transferred to Texas, she never had her name put on her jersey and only had Texas to rub it in his face that she was a team player.
  16. This one hurts because she's finally healthy but the emergence of the freshman limited her playing time. When she transferred in, coach said she had the potential to be the next franchise player. This was also prior to Stafford joining the team as well, so logjam at the position along with the #1 recruiting coming in next year.
  17. Probably because likely Harvey is going to be a starter next year along with Nya Bunton. This severely hurts depth though.
  18. Don't have any info, however what is fact is that Starck's mother played volleyball for Texas, albeit was before Coach Elliott took over the program. So hopefully there's interest from her as she was the freshman of the year last year and entered the portal for mental health. Texas' previous players have often said that coming to Texas brought back the love of volleyball for them (latest one being Madi Skinner).
  19. With ATM's volleyball advancing further and their football advancing further, they are ahead for sure. They have strong track teams as well, Texas will need some of the other teams to really pick up the slack from the fall sports.
  20. Texas might go after Izzy Starck, the star setter from Penn St who’s in the transfer portal. She led Penn St. to the title last year.
  21. Since Vic’s been here, but next few years I think the team will be even better with the talent coming in.
  22. The Aggies are dangerous, they have strong middles. Texas needs to take care of business tonight against a hot Wisconsin team.
  23. This would be the only time I'd pull for the Aggies, so those cocky ass Nebraska fans and their team can cry with that loaded team and class never winning a championship.
  24. Nebraska is stacked like the Texas team in 2022 was, the championship is theirs to lose. They don't really have a weakness. That said, anyone left has the ability to beat them as well.
