  1. Saw that Georgia signed Lindemuth from Tech. They are going to be tough competition next year, they got their ace in the pitcher from UCLA (former #1 recruit) and some other key signings. SEC softball, much like baseball, is no joke. It's a friggin gauntlet just to get through the regular season.
  2. I wanted to see some stud pickups that were available, but it looks like Coach is picking up potential complimentary players to the star core instead of trying to replace them. It's a fine line when you have good recruits coming in. It's also the opposite of what tech is doing (they literally trying to replace current players with all americans from other teams). What Coach is doing is similar to Sark's approach to the football team, use the portal to fill gaps from recruiting, not replace the ones that decided to sign with you in the first place.
  3. They were pretty consistent on the answers lol
  4. That looks like a left handed glove’s , the webbing is where her thumb and forefinger are.
  5. Apparently they all like to do the horns up the McConaughey way.
  6. Anyone have an idea who this article is referring to? I searched Anne Wallace and this article came up and it's only about a week old. https://nextfootballnews.com/longhorns-hoping-to-copy-anne-wallace-contract-top-national-star-commit-to-texas-longhorns-softball-offers-rejected-from-byu-nebraska-auburn-oregon-tennessee-powerhouse-for-tech/
  7. I'm still hoping they land Lindemuth from Tech, she's a good talent at 3B.
  8. I don't think the gap is that big, feel like Texas was doing pretty well until Spencer went down.
  9. The write up is a bit fluffy compared to the stats posted. .250 avg in 16 at bats means she was 4/16 against mainly big 12 competition, and a "top option" on the base paths with 4/6 stolen bases . . . so okie lite never stole any bases? Ran track in high school so likely a base running give a person a break sub I'm guessing kind of like Vanessa Quiroga was this past year.
  10. This is pretty much a good amount of the Texas haters in the SEC (especially the Aggies). They were hoping Texas would fall on their face and get dominated so they could laugh and say "now you're in the big boy league". Much to their surprise, Texas came in and competed in almost every sport, proceeded to win the all sports trophy, as well as the director's cup. Now they all have egg on their face because they can't bring themselves to admit that Texas was going to be good in whatever league they played in. Equally as funny are the big 12 fans who clap that they are ok without Texas and ou. It must have really pained Yormark to see Tech lose to the Longhorns in the softball championship because we know how much he loves Tech.
  11. It would be a great get and fill the void left by Scott’s graduation imo.
  12. Yea Wells, can also hit. Question is whether it translates from a small school or flame out like Simpson did. Simpson came in as a freshmen expecting to compete for Texas records.
  13. One of the best still available in the portal after tech’s haul. i would have liked the pitcher from ucla as well to give Kavan some help but Georgia picked her up, former #1 recruit. Guess they are hoping Wells is the real deal. Still have Cambria and Citlaly as well.
  14. Stewart probably moves to 1B with Jolie Mitchel graduating. That leaves an opening in LF which would have been Kaydee Bennett, who while is extremely fast doesn't really hit for average or power. Bennett is best utilized in more of a running substitute or give a player a break role.
  15. If Wisconsin is successful, how many school sue Texas Tech softball?
  16. He's part owner in a gym and I believe some other places in Houston, I don't think he's broke, but he's not celebrity rich like he should be given his NFL contracts were.
  17. A&M's 2022 class might be a topic of a 30 for 30 one day.
  18. I wonder if Tech has become the new evil empire in softball overtaking ou. ou was hated (outside of Norman) because they were dominant, Tech is becoming the bad guy outside of Lubbock for trying to buy a championship. To their credit, Tech fans are owning it saying, tell your boosters to spend money. But their excuse of ou and Texas has been paying players for years holds no water with me. It's not like Texas has been a powerhouse. The Cat years were primarily because of a once in a lifetime pitcher and only once Coach White arrived did Texas make noise in the WCWS. ou on the other hand, possibly, but it's not hard to believe that a standout pitcher wouldn't want to transfer there knowing they have a good chance at a championship.
  19. Any news that improves a Texas Longhorn team or sport I'm excited to hear.
  20. Apologies, I was referencing the late Stoops and Riley eras of all offense no defense.
  21. You could also throw in his offspring was also a star at Texas, although Clemens did the same thing on that front so not unique.
  22. I wouldn't say they cheated, but the did play to what the voters like - video game stats. They had offensive gurus and defense be damned, they'll just stack offensive talent and score. To their credit, it worked, however those offensive minds are gone and so is the offensive scheme that produced it. Can Mateer be good? Sure, but I'm in the opinion that he will be average. That's the thing with opinions, it's like arseholes, everyone's got one. Last year couple of years the criminals had been talking about how Jackson Arnold was better than Arch and would win the Heisman. Talk changed real quick a couple of games in.
  23. James was also undefeated for his entire career in football and was a 2 sport star, also has the only perfect game thrown in baseball's history.
  24. Content around Texas gets views, sadly for them, more than their own team. Personally, I only look for stuff about Texas, I couldn't care less what other teams are doing, with the exception that I do enjoy a tears thread or tears show once in a while (like after last year's games against both ou and atm.
  25. From AI: Hannah Wells: A standout pitcher and shortstop from Coahoma, Wells led her team to three consecutive state championships and is known for her impressive stats, including a 0.49 ERA and 258 strikeouts in her senior season.3 Anne Wallace: A catcher who adds depth to the Longhorns' lineup.3 Alisa Sneed: An outfielder who contributes to the team's offensive capabilities.3 Jaycie Nichols: An infielder who is part of the highly ranked recruiting class.3 Aundrea Wilson: An infielder who enhances the team's defensive and offensive options.3 Caigan Crabtree: A middle infielder who adds versatility to the roster.3 MaTaia Lawson: Another middle infielder who contributes to the team's depth Based on the quotes on TexasSports.com - Coach White said Jaycie Nichols has the potential to be the next Janae Jefferson/Mia Scott. And Alisa Sneed has tons of speed, so my guess would be for those two to potentially fill the vacancies with Wells pitching/DP batting.
