  1. As many have stated, this is a young team compared to recent years, two of the main three starting outside hitters (main attackers) are both true freshman, the other is a junior. They have amazing moments and moments where their inexperience shows. I believe the only starting senior is Halter the Libero. I'm amazed at the amount of Texas fight the team has, many other teams would have folded. I believe will be extremely tough to beat at the end of the year once the freshman get their experience. With that backcourt, there's pretty much no give up at all on any play.
  2. She moves really well in that video, big time prospect!
  3. Very Muschamp esq, that's fire. Nothing wrong with wanting your team to have a killer instinct. Put games away with authority, force the fear into them.
  4. This is the concern for me, as great as Sark is as scripting plays, it seems he has trouble making adjustments during the game. This was something Saban was a master at. If I recall correctly, Saban explained coverage vs. ATM in a game, and he pulled the same play that ATM ran up twice and the first time it was successful and then Saban talked about the adjustments they made and the second time it was ran the Bama defense handled it because of the adjustments.
  5. I would argue DeBoer inherited a Rolls Royce from Saban whereas Sark inherited a Ford Focus from Tom Herman.
  6. I have a feeling North Carolina's season will largely dictate how many opportunities long time NFL coaches will get to coach a college team moving forward.
  7. Sark said on 3rd and Longhorn (and I believe him) that the Texas job is the best college job because of everything that you have, including the city of Austin. Financial resources, fan support, recruiting base, Austin having both big city as well as college town feel, no pro football team, the list goes on. Felt like as he was talking he truly believed it makes his job easier because recruiting to Austin isn't as hard as say college station.
  8. They couldn't use the correct icon/emoji for Texas? A cow really?
  9. With LSU winning, so far in the first two top ten matchups the lower ranked team has won, we’ll see how Miami Notre Dame turns out but this season is shaping up to be chaos so far, including bama losing to fsu.
  10. I just realized we still don’t know if we have a kicker that can make a field goal when needed.
  11. Lots of people are assuming Florida is an automatic win, it’s in the swamp and they’ll be ready for payback. Texas will need to make some big improvements to pull out a win, starting with Arch playing like he’s capable of.
  12. Definitely a lack of explosive plays that we've gotten used to the past few years, outside of the Livingstone catch and I think one by Wingo, there weren't much.
  13. The positive I guess it that the gave was winnable, like you said, Texas beat themselves with penalties, bad misses (Arch), and poor play calling. It wasn't a blow out, it was a close game to the now probably #1 team early in the season. Also, the team knows what they need to work on in order to beat a good team, the next 3 games won't really tell us much because theoretically, the starters should not be playing in the 2nd half and resting.
  14. I was hoping for a Texas team like the 05' team where stories from the guys of how Vince would dare the defense to stop them by telling them exactly what they were doing and saying see if you can stop it. There's still a ways to go to get to that level of confidence and play.
  15. No sacks on a freshman QB by the defense was disappointing, especially because this rush is supposed to be elite.
  16. On the glass half full side, pressure should be off, no more target on their back, and they can play as the hungry ones as most likely Georgia will be the favorite to win the SEC next week
  17. I’m wondering if the lack of pre-snap motion is due to offensive line being new and Sark & co didn’t want to have potentially more pre-snap penalties than we already had. Otherwise, doesn’t make sense, this is Arch’s third year in this playbook, he should know it. Only other thing I can think of is Sark is thinking long term and didn’t want to reveal anything game 1 since it doesn’t really impact Texas’ playoff chances win or lose. Obviously would rather win, but peaking at the end of the year is preferred over shooting your shot early.
  18. Arch played poorly, but still had them in the red zone multiple times, if Texas converts those they win. The play calling in the red zone is the biggest worry.
  19. Ohio St. has a few guys that can score at any given time, Jeremiah Smith raise your hand. The good news is that Texas has those types of guys as well.
  20. I'm very surprised tight end is that low, also interesting that the Big 10 and SEC have the lower % for QBs yet have a higher number of top QBs vs the ACC and Big 12.
  21. Agree with this, less time to think and overthink, let your training and natural abilities take over. I was never an elite athlete, but I did complete some Ironman triathlons, my friends always told me on race day to ease my nervousness - just trust your training. That's all the Longhorns needs to do, trust their training - they have some of the best coaches in the sport.
  22. It's strictly a business decision for them, they do the cost analysis of how many they think will still subscribe and how many they think they'll lose and make their decision on what they think makes them the most money. Basically looking for the sweet spot on price where they maximize revenue.
  23. I'm expecting the Fox games to be available via the antenna, so I just purchased a $20 one off Amazon. For the rest of the games, assuming an ESPN network, I caved in and got the Disney bundle special for $29.99/mo. for all ESPN unlimited. I figured it was the cheapest route as I don't watch much anything else on any of the streaming networks to make the full cost worthwhile.
  24. I’m thinking this may be a precursor to the SEC changing the champion game to a play in game for 3/4 or 5/6.
  25. Last year Texas was down to pretty much 2 RBs and a QB that didn't have the skillset to run. This year, Texas has it's full stable of backs along with a QB that will take off and is pretty fast at that. Go ahead and play a 3 front and get gashed. If the O-line can't create holes against a 3 man front, Texas is in worse shape than what we've been sold.
