  1. Soccer had a no show and volleyball had a down year by their standards. I still don't know what the heck happened to track and field, but we've beaten that horse to death. Texas will be back on top soon enough. And Texas needs to put together a gymnastics program because that's the last thing those okies can hold onto. And they only really win because there's like 4 programs and all the talent from the state of Texas goes there as Texas doesn't have a program.
  2. Props where it's due, Texas took aggy's women's tennis coach and they found a replacement who's brought them championships. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds a nut.
  3. Also if Ole Miss didn't choke a massive 8 run lead with 3 outs to go; they likely win that regional as well.
  4. This entire thing was basically cashing checks on their names. Kind of like old actresses doing only fans like Shannon Elizabeth.
  5. If she's as good as was advertised, should be a formidable rotation next year with a senior Kavan, sophomore Wells, and her.
  6. They aren't evenly matched, massive weight disparities and reach disparities. The announcers trying to hype these fights as if it was GSP vs. the prodigy in their heyday is also annoying.
  7. The first two past their prime fights haven't been that great. Hoping the RR vs. Carano fight is a good one. Same with Nate Diaz.
  8. It is pretty amazing how quickly Wells passed up everyone on the pitching staff not named Kavan in just her true freshman year. That's part a testament to her talent and part how non-elite the rest of the staff is. It's a good thing Kavan is one of the top 5 pitchers in college.
  9. Is Wells that good? Frahm is elite and basically carries Nebraska.
  10. Bats need to pick it up and put some runs in, should be done in 5 innings like all the other top seeded teams.
  11. Stanford getting knocked out in the regionals would not upset me. Same for a few others, like aggy lol.
  12. So far the big upset of the day. No more they deserved to host over UCLA, though they did have to travel across the US so probably a little tired with the time difference.
  13. As CDC said in one of his town halls, and Sark has said as well, Austin and the University of Texas is a strong advantage for recruiting.
  14. Texas' highly ranked teams need to at least hold serve - Softball being #2 rank is a lot of estimated points, same with baseball at #6.
  15. That's fair; so the regional is Wagner, Baylor and Wisconsin. Based on what you said, I could see it going like this (assuming the bats produce plenty of runs) Game 1 against Wagner - Cam or Wells with the other spelling Game 2 against either Baylor or Wisconsin - Citlaly or Gonzales with the committee to finish Game 3 against the loser bracket - TK Assumption is that Texas wins game 1; regardless of what happens in game 2, TK throws game 3. If it gets to a game 4 for whatever reason, it's probably TK again or a mix of Citlaly and TK.
  16. Likely, you want that first win done and don’t want to take chances; additionally, it lets her keep her rhythm. Then if you for some reason lose game 2, you still have Kavan for game 3 through the losers bracket elimination game.
  17. Going to come down to who's got it on race day.
  18. What's the quote . . . winners focus on winning, losers focus on the winners
  19. Top 8 seeds are tough, anyone one of them can win it all, Texas plays like they did in the SEC tourney and they have a legit shot at repeating as champs.
  20. Almost a guarantee they’ll host a super assuming they get out of the regional as well.
  21. It's a different team this year; more weight on Kavan's shoulders because the pitching depth isn't as good as a year ago - Mac Morgan, while not elite, was good enough as a #2. On offense, they lose some of the power with the loss of Jolie Mitchell and Mia Scott; Jaycie Nichols is a speedster who is more the wreck havoc on the bases type. LF is where they are really looking for something; last year it was Katie Stewart in left field, so this year you gain some on defense with more speed there, but you lose out on offense because you're not getting the same offensive output from that position. This team has the potential to win it all or lose in the super regionals, but looks like they are starting to get in sync for the post season, so hoping for a deep run again.
  22. My guess is he'll go with one of the other pitchers and bring Kavan in if needed. The softball throwing motion allows repeated use, though the arm does get tired, it's not like baseball where you need multiple days rest to be effective.
  23. They just have to make the plays, pitches, hits, etc. when it counts. Remember last year they were on the brink of elimination, down in the super regional to Clemson who had the winning run to send them to the WCSC on third base with nobody out. Kavan came in, and Texas started to make plays from there on out. Tech had control of game 1 in the championship until Canady didn't know how to intentionally walk a batter. The talent is there, they just have to make plays when it counts.
  24. That’s the major difference is that if Stanford’s required sports all scored anything half decent - they have massive advantage on the inside track to 1st because of the number of sports they have.
  25. Just like last year, everything needs to click at the right time. They top tier talent, but it's not the most elite. OU is better at hitting and Tennessee and Texas Tech both boast better pitching staffs.
