  1. Looks like Staley made adjustments from the game in Austin. Advantage right now swings back to Vic as if they meet again in the tournament Vic will be the one unveiling something new. Though the two wins for Staley has been blowouts and Vic squeaked out a victory at home. The stars for Texas need to show up and be stars. SC's stars showed out.
  2. If Holle or Jordan Lee aren’t hitting shots, Texas has no long range threats. The opponents then just clog up the lane and womp womp. Really need some deep threats next year with Holle graduating.
  3. Odd that Texas isn't projected the overall #1 seed even though they're currently ranked #1.
  4. I disagree, Arch is a new starter, but he's essentially a redshirt sophomore in year 3 of the system. He'll make some mistakes, but he should be able to play at a fairly high level as well. The rest of the team is fairly reloaded (less experience on the o-line for sure) so Texas should be able to compete.
  5. OU should be better than they were this year, but if Texas is supposed to be competing for a national championship, they should win this game comfortably. Being a rivalry game it should be closer for about the first half and then pull away in the second half.
  6. Out in Katy here. This would be great for a watch party unless y'all are going to the Texas exes ones?
  7. IMO, the NIL argument does not have much weight, there's a ton of teams with less NIL than Texas that are playing a better brand of basketball. I've said in another thread, watching this team is boring - iso ball all day.
  8. I see the RT situation similar to the DP situation. Both nice guys and reached the post season, but at the end of the day, the goal at Texas is not just to make the post season, it's to win championships. And if CDC and leadership do not think you'll eventually get over the hump, then changes will be made, it's simple as that. The only thing that I think might not lead to an immediate change, is that CDC has shown he generally doesn't fire a coach but rather waits for their contract to run out and not renew it. The only firing that I can recall is Beard and that was for circumstances outside of the norm.
  9. As long as they don't trip up any of the remaining games on the schedule, they would be locked in as a #1 and probably @2 overall seed. (Even if they don't win the SEC tournament I think) Three games left against Georgia, Miss St., and Florida - all of which the Horns will be favored in.
  10. Tech gonna find out you can’t just buy your way to the top. Canady chased the money, but at least she didn’t go to 0u
  11. I dunno what happened to Sophia Simpson but she’s regressed every year since her freshman year. She had a lot of promise also, the talent is there.
  12. If you’re rich we’ve seen how easy it is to get people to say whatever. Money motivates people to many things.
  13. What an insane benefit to be able to just text your uncles, who both happen to be Superbowl champions for advice on football.
  14. What's been frustrating to watch is the after math of the 1v1 moves. Before the season, Gerry said that the team was full of people that could shoot the ball. I played casually and watch casually, but what I see lacking is someone driving and pulling defenders and dishing out to the open guy. Seems like every single drive ends up with a shot, even if it's a triple teamed contested shot.
  15. For the first time in a while, Gasso did not get the best pitcher in the portal thanks to Texas Tech spending big bucks on Canady.
  16. Just something to keep in mind, Rick Barnes made the tournament almost every year and was eventually let go because expectations are to at least have deep runs, not just make the tournament. Shaka made the tournament and got sent packing every time. I believe the powers want more than just to make the tournament.
  17. Surprised to not see ou at #1. Until they are beaten, they are the standard.
  18. Well unless they manage to make some serious changes, when he's on the field you know it's most likely a pass play. If it's a run play, Texas edges should be able to get to the ball carrier pretty easily.
  19. I watched the first few games and will not be watching again unless they get into the tournament. As you said, it's not fun to watch because it's primarily 1v1 shot creation and no semblance of an offense.
  20. This would be hilarious, the threads will be that he was not sec ready
  21. They are known as the 2% I believe, the few aggies with common sense.
  22. Yep, they are holding out hope that Arch will not be good. They've been saying that since he committed with all their excuses, though we know full well if he had committed to atm that he'd be considered a football god. The tears will flow heavy once next season starts and Arch shows the world he's the real deal. And they will be delicious tears.
  23. Any contingency plan for kicker in case auburn doesn’t regain his confidence?
  24. Taaffe went from walk-on to not only being on scholarship but an all-American and was an integral part of a stud defense. It's not quite Freddie Steinmark but I would say he's fairly similar.
