  1. Immediate next questions - who on the team stays, who transfers in, who transfers out? Recruiting? It's a non-stop news cycle!
  2. I'd say it's practically a guaranteed 3 overall at the worst, but most likely an overall 2 seed. Texas has the 1st or 2nd rated RPI and outside of the two regular season losses, both to highly ranked teams, only Nebraska's unbeaten record is better. Should Texas and Nebraska meet in the finals this year, it will be the reverse of the team situation when they met a few years ago where Texas had the senior laden team and Nebraska had 4 star freshmen in the starting line up. Nebraska will be a tough out for anyone, but this Texas team is getting hot when it's important, if they can ride this all the way, watch out.
  3. Championship caliber coaches - it's what CDC does. That's why I'm confident that should any coaching jobs at Texas open up, as long as CDC is the AD, the replacement is going to be just as good if not better.
  4. CDC plays 4D chess when it comes to hiring new coaches. Coach Ange Kelly helped grow the game for Texas, but could never break through even when she was able to recruit some elite talent in recent years. She always supported the other programs though and led a classy program, even if they never won it all, saw the soccer team attend a volleyball match to support after they played their game earlier in the evening when my wife and I was at the match. Someone posted on the social media announcement that her program was the only one to have never at least make the elite 8 of their sport. With softball winning it all last year and WBB having made the final four and poised for a run the next few years, the pressure was on for the soccer program to keep up. If it's the UCLA coach, excited for what the future holds. UCLA probably either can't, or won't come close to what Texas is able to do on the NIL front to get the new coach great players. Hook'em coach Kelly.
  5. I'm in the boat that thinks he stays at Ole Miss as well. He's got them competing for the playoffs, the expectations aren't as high as they are in Florida or LSU. Unless an insane deal like 10 years guaranteed surfaces somewhere.
  6. Haven't seen much news on the beach team, what are their chances this year?
  7. I think the fair thing to say is that the expectation is to always compete for a championship, meaning being in contention for a chance to win it all at the end of the regular season.
  8. That's totally out of the blue, and it's not like Howard's not connected enough to hear some things. My belief would be that Sark's chasing that Titan's job, he didn't refute and it he doesn't seem to have the focus this year.
  9. Thanks for the perspective. Was Kirby's 5th year the year Georgia was dominating Bama and at halftime Saban went to a freshman who led a comeback to win the title?
  10. Weren't the Branch bros publicly going to whoever would pay the most to both bros? Georgia won that bidding war, seems to have paid off for them as well.
  11. I don't have the stats in front of me, but the crazy thing is that Sark's supposed to be an offensive guru, but this Texas team's offensive production has been pretty weak compared to every other team against the same opponent. It's not like they don't have players either, Texas' backups should be just as talented as half the other teams minus the Georgia's and the Bamas. Can't tell me they aren't as good or better than Miss St. or Kentucky's starters.
  12. My understanding was that there isn't a new deal yet, just an extension of the old one that expired so the new expiration date is end of Nov 2025.
  13. She's a junior, on the women's side, the pro league money is not like it is on the men's side (Caitlin Clark's league salary is 70k), I think for most superstar athletes in college with NIL will make more than they do in the pros. Unless she's got a major endorsement deal that would require her to go pro in order to get it, it's likely she'll stay for her senior year. Throw in that if the WNBA goes on lockout because a deal can't be reached and it makes a ton of sense for her to stay for her senior year. Maybe even do graduate school like Harmon. Separately, my guess is that Harmon wasn't going to go very high in the draft, if drafted at all, in which case she'd make more money with NIL than going pro last year and thus returned. To answer your question though, eventually, most likely Crump will take Booker's place as main scorer, though Booker has elite scorer traits so it likely won't be a one for one.
  14. Thanks Gerry. Going to be hard to beat the elite teams without athletic bigs. In the tournament, they just slow the game down and their bigs just dominate, unless Texas can out shoot them, it'll be tough.
  15. Unfortunately the control so much of what's viewable because it's on their network that they continue to rake in the money.
  16. Coach Elliott really hit a home run so far with this year's freshman class - and there's a libero on the bench that's supposed to be pretty good as well but in front of her are Emma Halter and Ramsey Gary who are the equivalent of covering an entire outfield between 2 people.
  17. Did they get any athletic bigs? Heard they were competing against South Carolina and UConn but I think they didn't win out.
  18. Personally it depends on the health of the team - if they are healthy, extra game! If key starters need to heal up, need the bye!
  19. Very strong class again, they should continue to compete for a deep playoff run or another national championship in the next few years.
  20. The loss to Florida where Texas crap the bed really hurts here. Without that, Texas is top 8 easily and can afford to lose 1 of the next three without fear or hope. Instead they either need to run the table or hope they get a shot at 9-3 assuming they don’t totally crap the bed and lose 2-3.
  21. Tech also doing this in softball and bought a stacked team. They went from cinderella and the sweetheart team (though with the million dollar pitcher) to the team to hate (more than ou).
  22. Smart coaching - basically make Rory try to beat you instead of the shooters. Hopefully Rory worked on her shot in the offseason.
  23. I can’t imagine that’s good for the locker room if the mercenary doesn’t pan out.
  24. Same will happen to sandy aggy once they stop getting Campbell's money. Though that pipeline will be available for a while.
