  1. I’m not a scout and don’t pretend to be so anyone who’s knowledgeable please weigh in. Understand that Fasusi wants early playing time, but from a scout’s point of view, would it be better to: 1: start early on the ou oline that’s terrible and known for being terrible (at the moment) and if it does not improve does not make you look as good (your teammates help make you look good or bad imo - a good QB makes a receiver look better and vice versa) 2: compete and when you earn playing time on the Texas oline that’s considered one of the best (with one of the games best coaches) My logic tells me scenario 2 but want to make sure I’m not looking at it with a bias point of view.
  2. And yet he was the starting QB for Texas when he was here, tells you how bad the roster was before Sark could rebuild it.
  3. Kind of like in the Waterboy movie. Force ou's offense to do something while reducing the risk to his offensive players because ou has a good defense.
  4. TCU getting smoked by SMU
  5. At this point every D coordinator should stack the box against Michigan until they show they can throw it more than 5 yards down field.
  6. Mullings literally carrying Michigan. It's not like USC doesn't know he's getting the ball every time.
  7. Agree, while I would enjoy sooner fans being unhappy, a Michigan win helps Texas more
  8. Micah Hudson decided to go play for that train wreck in Lubbock. We don’t know what impacted Moore’s decision but rumor is Knight opened the checkbook and Texas wasn’t willing to play. If that’s true, so we be, happy with the current commits in the fold. Wingo, Cook, and Deandre Moore are going to lead the way next year!
  9. It definitely doesn't hurt WR recruiting for them to see Arch play this season and know he's gonna be the QB at Texas the next couple of years.
  10. Jerrod was a loyal Longhorn even though he had to change positions to help the team. He was Roschan before Roschan.
  11. They are going to anoint him as their savior (aka next Manziel) and when he doesn't deliver skewer him for not meeting their ridiculous expectations.
  12. Some have already, but some have also called them out. Pic curtesy of Longhorn Frenzy
  13. That's a rough schedule. Would be interesting to compare theirs to Florida's as the season goes on on which gauntlet is tougher. Florida has the nod ever so slightly I feel.
  14. I finally got to understand how other dads feel, my little Longhorn hit 2 months and watched the game with me.
  15. As"they" say, college football is better when Texas is good. I completely agree 😂
  16. And they just keep reloading with talent every year. Coach said in an interview this is the deepest team he's ever had.
  17. Sorry to hear. I was laid off during Covid, after just getting married. It was a blow both to the ego and financially, but God has bigger plans,. Am now in a job at a place that takes care of me and I love what I do. Best of luck!
  18. Call me crazy but I can't fathom a seven figure payment for a softball player (in terms of ROI of revenue). Even if they win tbr championship, they wouldn't make that money back. Not to mention lockerroom situation with other players. Only softball player that would come close for me is Cat Osterman at Texas because she was so dominant and even that's questionable on ROI. Canady is good but she's not Cat O. good.
  19. Agree, but to my knowledge, none of the Texas names like Madi Skinner have been given a million dollar NIL at Texas. I would argue that Madi Skinner would deserve one before Canady at Texas given she's brought a championship and volleyball is extremely popular at Texas. They probably are closer to breaking even or making a profit vs softball. My guess anyway. If Canady joined the Longhorn softball team, they'd be serious contenders but nothing is guaranteed.
  20. Completely agree, and while aggy likes to complain about it, when Texas is winning, the amount of non-alumni fans (aka t-shirt fans as defined by aggy) grows significantly compared to many other schools. During my career, I've had many moments where I have met other Texas fans all around the world during travels on every continent (except Antartica, I haven't been there yet).
  21. From a business perspective, 1 mil for a softball player is pretty crazy considering softball is not a revenue generating program. The ROI on a softball player is nowhere near the ROI on a player in another sport (football being the obvious #1 imo). Texas has a number of female athletes that are arguably the brand name in their respective sport (Madisen Skinner for Volleyball).
  22. I forgot Tech does have a potent offense as well. This makes them very dangerous
  23. Kind of surprising to me, that's a short term move versus a long term move with a school like Texas, ou, or Florida. Academically, not even in the same ballpark as well.
  24. I'm just as frustrated as any other fan and I'm sure the coaches as well. I took a step back and did yard work this morning, now as I think about it, it's not like the coaches are losing recruits to everyone, they are in the thick of things vs everyone. Oregon is on a hot roll, how and why, we don't know for sure (though we can guess). Other schools have also lost on the same recruits to Oregon ... OSU, LSU, etc. Would Texas rather be #1 right now in recruiting? Sure, but like a previous poster said, the sky isn't falling. Similar to what Royal said, go win with the guys you have. When Texas lost out on Adrian Peterson, the sky didn't fall, they eventually won the national championship while Peterson watched at home.
