    Tom Herman was fired "mid contract" If you don't extend him or release him after this season then you are ABSOLUTELY cooked on the recruiting trail.

    He’s a good offensive player but he’s average at best defensively. One could make the argument for all of our infield, defensively at least. The fact that Porter Brown remains in the lineup is sad

    This. Also Blake Gideon is still ridiculed and shamed still for his gaffe vs Tech in 2008. The days of these players being “kids” is over. NIL era out front shoulda told ya.

    Personally, I don’t feel bad for him at all. Those were routine plays with easy throws. He should be shamed and ridiculed for costing us this game. Sorry if that’s too real for this board, you can delete if need be.

    I'm thankful for his help and contributions with NIL and program but good lord that guy is such a cry baby on Twitter.

    Will still need to be ultra competitive in the NIL landscape along with the schools pay for play. Hopefully the movers and shakers of NIL for Texas understand this.

    But you're looking at only 1 position, there are 8 other positions on the field, multiple pitchers, and etc that the kind of money used to get 1 guy back could be better suited in getting multiple guys to make the team better as a whole, which is what this team will need next year. SEC is far far far superior to Big 12...and the only saving grace this season has had was the Big 12 is absolutely awful baseball conference.

    It limits your roster construction though because of money....It makes navigating the portal so much tougher for building the team, unless you're saying we rely on incoming freshmen.

    Money isn't unlimited....I'd argue the money it would cost to bring him back would be better suited building the team for next year. We are going to need to greatly improve all around on the roster to compete in the SEC. Also David Pierce hasn't fared well vs SEC competition in his time at Texas.

    Is it worth spending a chunk of the NIL package on him or would that money be better suited in the portal?

    O/U 5.5 games coached this season before Napier is fired.

    If Cam Rising makes it through a season healthy then Utah will be very very good! I think MIchigan, FSU, LSU take a big step back Penn State is exactly where they should be that 8/9 to 14/15 range until they can prove it otherwise. Clemson is ranked too high Tennessee is adequately ranked and could be pretty good this year. Also not sure why USC deserves a ranking at this time.
