  1. Indiana sounds like us during football coaching search
  2. Does anyone know the geopolitical ramifications of Chicago style vs NY style pizza?
  3. That lady that worked with the Spurs may be better suited for men’s game than women’s
  4. Hearing all the Ivey talk reminds me of all the Shanahan talk when we have a football opening
  5. Dude is a grinder and will do well recruiting on game days, camps, and OVs
  6. Before 1999 UCONN wasn't much in terms of basketball. All it takes is the right coach IMO.
  7. Was Florida a better Job before Donovan?
  8. Texas has hired that caliber of coach in most sports since CDC’s arrival. Vic is one of the highest paid women’s coaches only behind Mulkey, Geno, and Dawn if I’m not mistaken. If CDC says he can get Coach X from whatever school, opens up the Rolodex, and rounds up the money it’s doable. But I think Oats buyout is just too much(will be 10+ million)
  9. The people of Surly have broken down CDCs criteria for coaching search which is the following: Has coached at a P4 school(Big East included for basketball) Has built a program at at least one P4 school (if not 2 programs, but one does not have to be P4) Has NCAA postseason success That criteria was used and added age as well as attainability due to buyouts to the criteria. It rendered the following names: Tommy Lloyd, Arizona Mick Cronin, UCLA Dusty May, Michigan - Can be removed now due to extension but was on the initial list a few weeks ago. TJ Otzelberger, Iowa St Grant McCasland, Texas Tech Pat Kelsey, Louisville Todd Golden, Florida Brad Brownell, Clemson Chris Jans, Miss St Sean Miller, Xavier Kevin Willard, Maryland A name that Trilly Donovan has mentioned is Quin Snyder
  10. Really not a bad price because it saves you roughly 6 million on the life of the contract coupled with not having to pay Beards so that money could go to the next coaches buyout.
  11. 4.3-4.8 I think. Initial buyout on his 5 year deal was 7.2
  12. It will be around 5 million or a bit less. we didn’t have to pay Beards buyout so we should have plenty for Terry and a sitting HC buyout
  13. We should probably just fire now and start moving on to find the next coach.
  14. Why does that matter? Terry is a bad HC and this team is more talented than what they show due to coaching.
  15. Wrong, our offense is called Tre or pray
  16. I mean he’s not wrong. Rodney Terry is a terrible HC
  17. Wade is not going to happen. Go ahead and just stop mentioning him.
  18. The right HC will negotiate the NIL amount they believe is needed to win IMO.
  19. Nobody with money believes in Terry so they're not going to put up the amount it would have taken to land him. Get a coach you believe in that is a winner and money will explode.
  20. I’m pretty sure that dollar amount is going to come from revenue sharing for the new coach, doesn’t include OneFund or corporate NIL
  21. lol, a dude on a downward slope of his career.
  22. I’d honestly make Tommy Lloyd say no first before thinking of Miller. Some say Arizona is a basketball school here as some excuse but they’re broke, they have subpar NIL for a “basketball” school. Austin for international recruits would slay.
  23. Sean miller is on the wrong side of his career. He nor his teams have performed well at all since the current era of college sports.
  24. Trust me I think our compliance department needs to chill as well, especially since NCAA has been castrated. But it is what it is with them at this point. They have the old mindset.
  25. vs Our compliance department wouldn't sign off on Corey Raymond. They barely signed off on Bo Davis and that was only because he had coached at Texas prior. Our compliance doesn't care what was illegal then or legal now. They are by the book no matter what. The penalties Wade was hit with show up when they run their checks and it would never be signed off on.
