  1. Would be better for TV if they got Dawn and Vic to play best of 7 rock, paper, scissors.
  2. I am expecting to have relations with Sydney Sweeney!
  3. If you were a football coach and had to decide on a job between say Alabama and Texas in the current landscape of college athletics which are you taking? Alabama(Indiana) has more tradition than Texas(basketball). I could see quite a few reasons why he would choose Texas/Austin over staying at Iowa St or Indiana job from a business and growth standpoint. Easier to recruit talent to Austin vs Bloomington. If he wins in Austin his NIL war chest grows as well. I'd imagine we are going to pay the next basketball coach 5.5-7 million range per year to get a good one as CDC doesn't want to mess this hire up as revenue sharing comes into play. His salary plus bonuses put him making about 4 million. If we offer the 6-7 million range I definitely think he's attainable.
  4. I don't know if he would but that low of a buyout definitely puts him in the category of attainable vs a coach who has 10+ million buyout to leave another job. But with revenue sharing coming and Texas being able to offer max revenue sharing and allotting 3-4 million for basketball plus corporate NIL of Austin, and Texas One Fund added deals there is definitely a lot of room to grow in Austin vs Ames and Texas brand vs Iowa St brand. It's not as simple as some of you make in regards to strictly NIL which is coming from TOF or corporate right now.
  5. CDC says he expects programs to be top 10 consistently.
  6. Alfred Collins broad and vertical are absolutely abysmal.
  7. After doing some research it appears that the Iowa State's coach buyout is only $4 million.
  8. That is absolutely the worst idea in the history of ideas for coaching basketball at the university of Texas. We’d be just as good just letting a random fan coach each home game and using Texas exes to find fans to coach the road games. That sounds like an as good, if not better option than running it back for Terry.
  9. It is my understanding that the coach(no matter the sport) has total control over how the budget is utilized. David Pierce used NIL as poor or more poorly than RT did. Believe it or not Sark and some others had to convince donors that Colin Simmons was a generational player and pushed for the NIL package he got.
  10. That's exactly what RT was, seriously. If Texas doesn't beat Xavier then Sean Miller is the coach of Texas basketball. But unfortunately for Texas basketball or fortunately, RT was the guy who happened to be in the right place when Beard committed domestic violence and the team that Beard assembled and recruited carried RT to an Elite 8 appearance. That put CDC in a tough spot and he won't make that mistake again, I'm sure of that.
  11. What do donors have to be motivated with? A below average HC?
  12. Not his team, not his players. How's this team with his players?
  13. So why didn't you donate the 7+ figures to land him? You all can keep harping on not bringing in Toppin but reality is no one was going to put up 7+ figures for 1 players with a coach of a team they don't trust. Especially considering that is coming from personal money of donors. Even with Toppin we improve by what, maybe 2 games in conference, make the tourney and get bounced first weekend? RT is still fired. Donors are going to be counted on for buyouts so that 7 figures is better spent to that this off season.
  14. Probably best because you're looking awfully foolish citing ISO ball as RT maximizing Tre and blaming NIL for anything and everything while simultaneously not blaming the real problem in RT.
  15. ISO ball is all about individual. You can try to put lip stick on a pig but if a player can't create his shot or get to rim in ISO it doesn't work, period.
  16. Don't lash out at me because you're grasping at straws and blaming NIL boogey man instead of the lame duck coach that is going to be fired because he's not good.
  17. ISO ball really takes coaching! You nailed it....RT is maximizing Tre and getting him to run basic ball screens and play ISO! EXTEND RODNEY TERRY! Tre's ability to create his own shots is why he's been successful in spite of poor coaching from Terry.
  18. NIL doesn't make Rodney Terry a better coach. You said RT has maximized Tre, what exactly has he done to maximize him? Now you're going on about NIL again as if that is the problem with Texas basketball. You also mention in another thread that CDC needs to put his money where his mouth is and he has literally done that in every sport that he's made the hires in. RT is a unique situation in terms of hiring and not the typical CDC hire. So once again....do you have anything to argue aside from big bad poor us NIL?
  19. What has RT done to maximize Tre? Tre is maximizing Tre via his own ability, it's definitely not RT's coaching and offense maximizing him.
  20. Tre is maximizing Tre.
  21. My guy, you have to quit harping on this NIL stuff. NIL isn't the reason this team looks as bad as they do it is piss poor coaching. In the current NIL format you cannot expect big money donors to blindly throw their own personal money at a lost cause in Rodney Terry. I guarantee you all this NIL talk goes away when we hire an actual coach that knows how to motivate donors in addition to revenue sharing.
  22. Hello corporate deals outside of Nike, brand growth in Austin, etc.
