Leffew and Brennan weren't selected in the draft. — As of 8 p.m. Sunday, there was no word on the future of 2B Ethan Mendoza. Sources told OTF leading up to the draft that Mendoza wasn't expected to return in 2027. While Mendoza wasn't drafted, he has the option to sign with an MLB organization as a free agent if he wants to begin his professional career.

Brandon Baker had a peak of 13 on a ranking and a low of 29. If he is a top-20 player for Texas this fall, that's massive for the run game and protection of Arch Manning.

No one in this group has more room to climb vertically up this board than Laurence Seymore. A Phil Steele 2nd Team All-American last year, if he is who we belivee him to be, he will be a Draft pick and a breath of fresh air on the OL. Michael Masunas is also very interesting to me. He had ranks as high as 22 (twice) and as low as 33. Very sturdy option is how I would best describe him. That's all Texas needs him to be this fall.

A source says the move from cornerback to safety for Kobe Black has been great. Additionally, the source added Black has found quite the affinity towards the safety position. With it likely exceeding his time at cornerback. While still relatively new to the position, Black has already turned some heads since joining Blake Gideon’s room. Black told me at the event that he has added some weight to his frame, but that he believes he is in the best shape of his career at Texas. “I for sure added a little bit of weight,” Black said. “It was some good weight that I needed. But I feel more explosive, faster, stronger. But my body feels real good — better than ever.”
